Hi guys I have a 3 week old baby and unfortunately she doesn't seem to like the Love to Dream swaddles I bought. She doesn't sleep well in it and I think she doesn't like her arms up as when we wrap her in a normal cotton blanket with her arms down she sleeps better. Im wondering if she also doesn't like a bulk of the zip up around her neck either. So I think I'll have to buy a couple of new swaddle wraps that have the arms down. We used the miracle blanket for DS which was good but that was 4 years ago. Im wondering if there is anything newer and better out there now? What swaddle wrap do you like? I'd appreciate any recommendations.
I swore by the Pumpkin Patch swaddles - they have velcro to close, and the velcro 'patch' is really big so fits all different sizes of babies. You can also change their nappy but keep their arms swaddled. I buy them for all pregnant women I know - I LOVED mine!
sorry don't know how to link but here's a pic of one from their website: http://www.pumpkinpatch.co.nz/flatshot/W3BN90011/col/AMC/listing/189582/categorypath/baby/baby-newborn/collections/cosy-cub/
there seems to be as many different types of swaddles as they are sleeping bags!
with our first child we ended up with several different wraps but actually found the best ones were ordinary stretchy baby blankets like these ones which we got from pumpkin patch: http://www.pumpkinpatch.co.nz/flatshot/W3BN90002/col/ORANGCRUSH/listing/186839/categorypath/baby/baby-newborn/big-patch-sale/accessories/ baby loved being swaddled in them. Because they weren't specifically baby wraps, we also used them as blankets in the buggy and the capsule.
our second child used them too. But because we had a winter baby, he also got swaddled in a baby blankets made out of merino. he liked those too. you can get them at Farmers.
Some friends have recommended the woombie. Google it. Think you can buy them from the sleep store. another friend swears by this one:
I used Strawberry Jam's stretchy merino wrap and they were awesome...my three year old still has both his blankets or through they are a little worse for wear now www.strawberryjam.co.nz/categories/merino-wraps-and-hats
