Personally I wouldn't take him until he is at least 3mths old, the chlorine can be very harsh on young skin and the temperature of the pool probably not warm enough for him yet. But that's just my opinion. If you do decided to go, you can buy swim nappies from the supermarket although not sure they make them that small?? Not sure about the ear plugs, I would imagine at that age you wouldn't be putting his head anywhere near the water so getting water in his ears shouldn't be a problem. May be best to ring the local pool and see what they have to say
i took DS a couple of weeks ago at 3.5 months. they sell 'little swimmers' at the local pools for about $2 so you dont need to buy a packet and they have small med and large so the small should be ok. i agree bout waiting a while just for the sake of their skin. we've been putting moisturizing cream on DS since we went cos he skin had dried out heaps and flaking. we also couldnt leave him in too long cos he was getting too cold after about 20 mins. they also tell you not to let their ears get wet cos of the infection rick. hope that helps :)
we have chlorine free pools up here in auckland...see if there are some near you - made a huge difference and she opened her eyes under water etc ...chlorine and bromine free are usually private lesson pools (not public ones) so you pay a bit more but it is worth it - also smaller classes.
