Topic: Technology!! Posted: 16 November 2006 at 1:00pm |
This makes me feel sooo old but it amazes me how far technology has come even in my short (yeah right) time on this earth. When i was at school cellphones werent even really around unless you were old and used them for business. Even when they did become common they were ugly and huge and no text messaging for ages. computers were only introduced in my last year at high school and that was those old horrible ones that were dos based or whatever, not microsoft or anything let alone the internet!!! Walkmans then discmans were sooo cool bit big and bulky. Now I feel like i have friends all over the country/world i havent even really met in person, I know more about half of you ladies than i do about my friends that live in chch! Ive just been thinking about this now that youtube is becoming popular, its like a whole new level of technology. now we can easily share things, look into other peoples lives and everything without actually leaving our houses or knowing these people. Its pretty mind blowing really. I wonder what will be around when our kids grow up.

Oh and I remember having Talking Heads on album!!! I was sooo cool cos i had my own stereo in my room that could play albums, now you dont even get stereos with the album part. and no cordless phones, you had the dial ones until they brought out the push button phones then cordless.

yeah, and you were super cool if you had a push buttonphone, not a roto phone...
I got my first HP at 18, a sony stereo WITH a record player, had a bit of vinyl, I think. The first CD i bought was TALKING HEADS!!!! CD's were about $35 or $40 when they first came out...
(still have the stereo, it is a really good one, it cost me $1800 way back then!!!!!!)
