Topic: Telecom Mobiles Posted: 21 November 2007 at 8:13am |
My vodaphone totally died so I needed a new phone. The telecom ones were cheaper (and pink) and had $10 text (and were pink) and I hadn't heard about vodaphone text 2000 so I went for a telecom (did I mention that it is pink? LOL).
However, since I got it a couple of weeks ago there have been several occassions where texts either won't send due to network problems OR people's replies take several hours to get back to me :( This happened last night rendering me stuck at home desperately trying to find out a friends addy.
Are these common problems with telecom or just a small recent glitch?

I switched to telecom about a year ago and have found them pretty average.
The network problems aren't common but they certainly do happen a lot more often than on vodafone, (read: every few months as opposed to once in a blue moon!)
Yay for a pink phone though!

Not sure....I haven't had any problems lately, all mine have been going through just fine.
Did you get the pinkalicious or the other pink one being advertised?

Umm, I dunno what it is! It is the old version (aka cheap version). I wanted the brand new model but couldn't justify an extra $80 when it had exactly the same functions. I only use the phone for texting so don't need fancy. I did really like the new version though.

I'm with Vodafone, but I know there have been a number of times friends on Telecom have texted me and I never received them (in fact it happened twice on friday). Used to be really hard to send pxt's as well, though that seems to be sorted now.

Ouch $135! Yeah I'm about to go prepay as well as my bills are creeping up (though only to between $40-$50!). At least with prepay, I'll know how much credit I have and if I use it up, too bad!

I've got both and I virtually never use my Telecom coz I have had so many issues with texts being delayed or just not arriving at all. I never did get the message you sent to my Vodafone that day at Botany Fiona, and I guess you didn't get my reply last night with Toni's address or you wouldn't have been stuck at home. Plus I got two texts back to back this morning from people on Telecom and I suspect they were both sent sometime last night.

We're with vodafone prepay, and my sister is with telecom, she's had trouble receiving photos that I've sent her, no problem with me receiving hers though.

Oh yeah, photos are really random on my Telecom phone, a friend of mine sent me a pic from a concert she was at and it arrived a week later

Argh. Oh well, I'm on telecom now and certainly can't justify changing so I guess I'll just have to put up with the delayed texts and hope they get on top of it.

I have both but use telecom more (500 texts are the boomb) I don't seem to have trouble with delayed texts... although i thought I did the other day as my friend never received hers (shes on V) but then she texted me - and whoops I had put a few numbers round the wrong way lol - brought a new phone so had to program numbers in again (old ph didn't have blue tooth)
as for phone selection though Vodafone has way better phones just costs me too much texting and phoning on vodafone - around $40 appose to $10

both df and i have been with telecom for like 3 years now and the only time we have had a problem is when sending/recieving txts from vodafone. i also have a vodafone that never gets used as we dont have vodafone recption out here!!
both df and i use our phs for txtn only unless its an emergancy so the $10/500 txts works great for us and is soo much cheaper with vodafone!!

The problem is between vodafone and telecom. They need to actually get their s#%^ sorted and work things out between the two companies.
My mum often asks if I have received texts from her (she's on v, I'm on t) and they never come through.

I'm on a plan with telecom, mainly for 2 reasons (as I am a die hard Vodafone lover) PINK phone and business plan, so the company pays for my phone, so its "free". I find their service sh*te, especially with texts to and from V. THe only good thing, apart from the pink phone, is I was able to get my same number, but in 027, which was a selling point (as was the pink part) as I had had that number for years and years, so no real hassle to change.
