We don't have a schedule as such, but DS has a pattern which we go with, it's pretty much the same every day within 1/2hr. I make appointments etc to match his expected pattern.

Then there are the other days - not that often but when they happen it all goes to pot.

He decides to miss a nap, then gets so tired he won't eat, but then he's so hungry a nap is out of the question. It usually happens when I've got plans and he doesn't sleep well away from his cot (who would have thought that a cot sleep association would be a bad thing?). From there on in the rest of the day is a mess and by the end of it I feel like I'm torturing my baby.

I guess I could stay home and pander to his every whim, but life goes on. I just feel really sorry for DS as he doesn't get a say in any of it.

OH gosh, sounds exactly like us too. We dont have a routine but like you, he has a pattern we roughly follow each day. And yep, the minute one thing is different it seems that the rest of the day turns to mush.

Jackson also needs his cot to have good sleeps too. He will sleep in the pram or carseat but never for longer than 20 - 40 minutes.

So nope, your definitely not the only one

Yip we are the same! I hate having scheduled appointments as I try to fit sleeps/naps in around them and it never works well throwing the rest of the day out.
