	I'm not sure about this as we never got to have our scan as I had mc in my 12th week but I think when you get your results back they may actually say wether you are at low,med or high risk. As for numbers I don't know as I havn't had to think that far into the process x

	they give the numbers to you at the scan...I'm not sure what happens if you have a high risk after that though (for CVS it's already generally determined as you have a family history of something) like in my case i saw the geneticist..

	I had the NF test, but only because it was the only way the MW would refer me for a 12 week scan and I wanted to see the baby. We did talk about what to do if it came back high risk, and like most others, wouldn't have done any more testing. My view was that we could handle having a Downs baby, but that I would prefer to know in advance rather than getting the shock of diagnosis at the time of birth. It's such a personal decision, and I really feel for the women who are "high risk" and deciding what to do.

	Both times i have had the 12 week, mainly because i am 31 this time, and i felt a need to see bubs after some bleeding! We had decided before the test that we would not keep a downs baby, as harsh as that it is, i just couldnt cope with it and dont have any support from family with the 1 child we already have, it would be a terrifying decision to have to make though if i was put in that position! ALso i was talking to a friend the other day and she was told with their first baby that it was 95% downs....after the Amnio at 19 weeks she found out the baby was 100% NOT downs, what a rollercoaster that would have been. The scan itself is not that scary, just take it in your stride, what will be will be.

	smartmum and others - you dont have to justify why you wouldn't be able to deal with a Downs child..it's totally a personal decision:) !
