Topic: TMI Question about EWCM     Posted: 13 November 2008 at 1:39pm |

How many days does this usually last for? I had it...full on stringy egg white stuff for 7 days this month. My cycles used to be exactly 28 days but the last one was 31 days so now I don't know exactly when I ovulate. The EWCM lasted from day 10 to day 17 of this cycle. I had the most on day 14 and 15 so took that as when I was ovulating. This happened in January 2008 too and we got pregnant that month so maybe it is just a good fertility sign!

I think it's pretty variable? I usually only get it for a couple of days but looking at other peoples charts they can often get it for ages too. That's a great sign if that's what happened last time you got pregnant though!! Fingers crossed it happens again

Mine can start around CD10 and go to CD15. This cycle I didnt get any until CD12 and I still have it today at CD15. Having said that, Im not too sure when I ov'ed this cycle yet either.

Good luck hun Lots of EWCm is a great sign!!

This cycle we conceived this bubba, I had HEAPS! Ridiculous amounts, I had to wear liners which I never normally had to. It went on for ages too, longer than 7 days... just going to check my chart on how many days it was....

so EWCM CD9-CD14 then again from CD17-CD21

So did you try that whole time? We tried from day 10 to day 16 (less on day when we were too tired LOL). I am freaking that we should've tried day 17 and 18 too!

I think it you have EWCM then the sperm is more likely to survive longer in your cervix than if you don't have EWCM and it makes it easier for it to swim up there. So I wouldn't worry too much if you didn't BD right up to ovulation, you wouldn't be out of the game.

If you dont have EWCM does that mean you hvent ovd? I had some just before AF last month and then a very small amount of CM about CD5. Now CD17, we have been BD since CD11 - as per specialist. Cramping in left ovary quite strong, otherwise nothing! Have a bit of a wet feeling (sorry TMI) but no CM - not sure what is going on?

Bree EWCM is an indicaton that you body is producing Estrogen and therefore causing Ovulation. Its the body's natural way of saying your ovulating and telling us its the most fertile time of your cycle. Having said that, some woman dont get much EWCM and I think if I remember rightly Melnel didnt have any on the day of Ov the cycle she got pregnant.

Everyone is different. There are some things that can help to increase EWCM like Vitex, EPO and Robitussin.
