Topic: Ugh spotting! Posted: 10 January 2008 at 9:56pm |
I've been spotting now for 8 days, it's old brown mucous so nothing sinister and today it's been lighter than the past few days altho so dark it's almost black. I know bub is fine as I had my 12 week scan two days after the spotting started and the scan showed it's not related to bub, and I listen to bub every day on the doppler, but it still makes me nervous and damn it's annoying!
Can anyone else relate? I also had 6 days of spotting at 8-9 weeks.

I had the odd spotting with Gina and freaked out every single time, went to the GP, had scans and never found out why it was happening.
I had spotting with this bubs too - in fact I was spotting for over a week at one point before I finally went to the GP (that was at around week 9-10). I got told off for leaving it for so long and got an urgent scan booked and nothing - bub was fine, no idea why. I've had the odd spotting since but not for a while now.
I agree it's so damn annoying and worrying - I'm just trying to accept it's poss what my body does. One of the sonographers (sp?) suggested it may be linked to the placenta forming as some women bleed around then.
Big hugs anyways

I spotted from 4 weeks 6 days to 13 weeks- pretty much only had a day or so break at any one time and I had 4 scans and they could never find out why. Everything from heavy clots to brown spotting Was so stressful! Totally feel for you, at least you know bubs is ok though
I was undie checking until the end! Heres hoping it clears up for you soon

Hugs to you. I have had a few friends that had spotting quite bit, some right through pregnancy. They say sometimes when bubs implants it disturbs a vein-type-thingy (excuse the lack of proper lingo...tired today!) and hence it gets irritated and can bleed, then slowly come out later or can just occassionally bleed a little.

I had spotting too with my first pregnancy, was pretty scary but they couldnt find a reason for it either. Sounds like your wee bub is doing great, and how cool to have a doppler!!

LOL I am the undie checking queen!
Thanks guys, nice to know that I'm not alone! Am trying to be much more relaxed this pregnancy, and I'm actually not THAT stressed about the spotting but it does still niggle away at me that something could go wrong.

I had spotting when preggers with Ollie from around 4 weeks up until 11 weeks. They found I had a small tear in my placenta. We moved house when I was around 4 weeks and was carrying heavy furniture (I didn't realise I was preggers until about a week later )

Spotting ... I had flooding!!! Big one's (like a mini masacre on the toilet) at 8wks, 9wks, 14wks and 22wks with spotting most other days right through until baby was born at 33wks gestation.
I had an early scan at 10wks to check and all was well, as was my 20wk scan. In the end it was put down to 'weak blood vessels' around the exterior of my cervix. When i went to the toilet they would burst (painless) and there would be blood and clots everywhere. Would all be over very quickly though and then just spot regularly until the next blow-out.
Very scary, and although it was diagnosed as unrelated to baby at 14wks, I would still have a mini heartattack when it occurred!
So i know how you feel . It sure is easy to say 'don't worry about it, it's nothing' but it's impossible to put it out of your mind. Lucky you do have the doppler and can check-up on bubs at anytime. I tried to keep my mind off it by keeping busy (a little too busy i think as she came rather early!)
Best of luck for the rest of your pregnancy, your healthy wee bub will be here and put your mind at rest soon.

I get spotting everytime we do the baby dance or i take a hilly walk for exercise, had a scan at 12 weeks and it was determined there was nothing coming from the womb...
Big hugs, its always scary even if you do know the reason, rest assured it can be quite normal throughout a pregnancy.
