Okay, this may seem like a wierd question. I'm 7w1d pregnant, and my cat is acting very strange.

Shes normally a very friendly tortoise shell cat, that would jump on your lap at any opportunity - I would have trouble keeping her off! But, for the last 5 weeks, shes been acting really funny. She wont sit on my lap anymore. In fact, she wont come anywhere near me. She's still happy to sit on my husbands lap, but as soon as I pick her up, she tenses, and runs at first opportunity. She wont even come in the house until my husband comes home!

Its probably just coincidence that she started acting weird around the time I would have concieved, but I wondered if anyone else has had similar expereiences?

I think my cat has become more affectionate towards me and wants to sit with me more than ever at the moment so that is total opposite to what you are experiencing.

I think at first they know that *something* is going on, and get worried, which accounts for some of them behaving a little stand-offishly... but then once they twig (and they will !) they usually get all smoochy cuddly and protective ! I know our three girl cats have, and it's lovely

my darling sweetie has been sleeping with me every night all night, since a few weeks after we discovered we were preggers.
before that she would come in most nights and disappear by morning.
she's on my lap every chance she gets too, i'm loving it!!
