Topic: is it possible....? Posted: 04 September 2008 at 6:45pm |
Something is going on with my body, AF was due on the 1st or 2nd
I normally have a very regular 27 - 28 day cycle. I have done 3 tests one ten DPO another 12DPO and another at about 15DPO all BFN. Is my body just a bit confused about when AF is due or can preg tests not work with some people? I have a tight achy feeling like AF wants to start but have been feeling like this since monday and still nothing is happening!! Should I go and have a blood test? I reckon just by posting this AF will come to bite me in the butt!!

Yes it is possible but very rare from what I understand. I only know through google etc, not actually anyone I know IRL. Have you had any stress lately that is putting your cycle out? You can go see a dr to get blood tests and/or advice, otherwise it seems like just waiting it out for AF. Sounds bizarre though. I think if I were you I'd wait until next Mon/Tues (one week over).

im going through the same thing , but mine is possibly due to being the first cycle off the BCP , I got a blood test last week , the day my AF was due and it was BFN , the doctor said to wait another two weeks and if AF wasnt here by then , test again .
But im having all the crampy feelings i usually get with AF , just ...no blood (tmi) ...i sympathise, its annoying !

It is possible that some people have lower levels of HcG and therefore pregnancy tests don't work for them for a while. I couldn't get a BFP with DS until I was 6 1/2 weeks (tested at 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 weeks and were BFN). Good luck for your BT results

oh skp, so sorry bout those bloods. Interesting what you said emz about having low HcG, would that be the same for blood results as well?

Sorry skp
Levels of HCG are higher in blood sooner than in urine (takes longer for the hormone to get in the wees) also they get the exact reading with blood no matter how low. Above 5 is considered pregnant as you can have levels lower than that when not pg. HPTs even the early ones don't pick up until levels reach around 25.
