I think the only way they cant tell you is if babys legs are crossed or they just dont wanna show lol its quite common

We were told bubs is more than likely a girl (well, we were actually told "no sign of a penis!") "but don't go painting the room pink yet!". She had her legs wide open but lil feet crossed at the ankles, so kind of like a cross-legged position so the sonographer had a really good view!
We haven't painted the room pink, but we sure as heck have gone all out on the pink clothes!

With Kobe he was very obviously a boy, didnt need them to tell us he was letting it all dangle down. This time round it took forever to find out what she was and was told she has a hamburger rather than hotdog! The sonographer was as sure as possible with a girl.

Yes. At my 20 week scan the baby had its legs crossed so the sonographer couldn't be 100% sure. All she said was that if it was a boy she would probably still see the bits hanging out the back but couldn't.. She said it was most likely a girl.
And I was just dying to know as well!!

I need to get some scans and have a good study up beforehand!! Maybe then I might see something that sonographer misses (doubt it aye - but worth a try!)

The sonographer couldn't tell with our 20 week scan, the first time she went to look the cord was in the way, and the second time baby had her hand in the way ! We didn't find out until another scan I had just a week and a half ago.
