My 5 week old is sleeping really well at night - but during the day for the past week will settle - but wake after 20 minutes. If I resettle she then wakes after another 20 minutes.

By the end of the day she is totally cranky and over tired - has this happened to anyone else or anyone have any idea why this is happening??

I have considered wind - but not likely this would be the problem for every day sleep for the past week???

How long is she up for before she goes to bed for her naps? It could be overtiredness???

I had all sorts of trouble with my DD's naps and a lot of it was to do with her being overtired. Especially when it kind of snowballed throughout the day as she became more & more overtired. I had to make sure I only had her awakes for an hour max as she was just that sort of baby, but that was hard to do if her feeds took ages and then we could not get any wind up.

Do you wrap her, one thing that worked for us was the miracle blanket from the sleepstore it was great and we also used a wedge or sleep positioner and slept her slightly on her side. These things made a lot of difference for us.........oh and white noise too just a radio set to static or a white noise CD.

We still have trouble with short naps sometimes now but she has always been a fantastic night sleeper, and slept through from 9 weeks, plus if I am honest I am not one to sleep during the day at all so maybe she just takes after me LOL!

I hope she starts to sleep longer for you soon, and CONGRARTULATIONS on your new baby girl!
