I really like Dillon!

It does really suck, there is no rule that you still couldn't use any of the names though, I guess it depends on how often you see the friends. Unfortunately although they may have known that you liked those names they may have loved them as well, stink for you though.

I personally don't care if friends have used the names I like, if I like them I'll use them. I'd just tell them if you chose to use it that you have always loved that name and wanted to use it before they did. If they have a problem with it then they will have to get over it.

yep you could ask them if you think it will be an issue but sadly if they were due first then I don't think you can really bagsie the names.

I'd just go with the name you like anyway. If you used Alexia and you called your baby Alex and they called theirs Lexi it wouldn't be such a big deal anyway.

a friend named her girl - Dhillon (hyphenated with another feminine name)

We chose Ella as we loved it but i wanted to give her a "fallback" as there are sooo many Ellas just Ella! SO we chose Gabriella - DH hated Izabella!

I have always loathed Paige as a name...and then worked for a Paige and hated it even more...

what about something liek Peyton instead?

Love Alexia and various forms of it too...i would always go for the longer version and shorten it.. I wouldnt start and call a kid Lexi...

I wanted to name our baby Bella if it was a girl but Bro and SIL had a girl about 7wks before us and named her Ella. People told me not to worry about the similar names but as they would be cousins and we spend alot of time together I decided against it. Luckily we havd a boy as I didn't have another name.

To me Alexia and Lexi sound different so I wouldn't think it would be a problem.
Regarding Paige, I would consider how good friends you are and if you think you will be friends with them forever, if its not likely then I would go for it, maybe just mention it to them though.

I agree that Alexia & Lexi are different enough not to matter.

Nothing wrong with long names, we already have our names picked and our child will be lumped with 2 middle names!

I think it's lovely. I have a long name too and the only time it's ever been a problem is writing on gvt. forms where there is limited space (then you just have to write small )

Oooh we are thinking about using Dylan as a name if it's girl.....

My cuz and i have very similar names - she is Yvette and i'm Lisette - the only person who gets in a muddle is our grandmother!

I think Dillon Alexia Elizabeth Connolly - it's not too long!

Good luck!

I really like Dillon Alexia Elizabeth, DH has two middle names and it is never a problem. If the form isn't big enough often his second middle name gets dropped or he just puts initials for his middle names. Don't think he's ever found it to be a hassle.

I think you should name your child what you want & remember it is a name that is going to stay with them for the rest of their life.

Go for it and use Alexia if you really like it!! What are the chances you'll know those people in 5 or 10 years time!
I just had two friends use the same name (Cameron) for their baby girls born within two weeks of each other. I was surprised but now I don't even think about it!

I think Dillon Alexia Elizabeth is soooo pretty!

For a girl I would def use the spelling Dillon - Looks more feminine than Dylan IMO.

This is exactly why I refuse to tell people what names we have!

Good luck

I like either way and you should go with what ever name you like.

I have a cousin who is 6 months younger than me with the same name (she was named after me as her mum liked the name) and its never been an issue. It was nice having someone with the same name as its unusual.

Is Dillon the girls spelling of Dylan?

DAEC or DEAC initials work well too.

All your name choices are lovely.

I looooove Dillon!

I had a falling out with a friend over naming Sienna coz it was her fave name, we didn't talk for two years but now we both have Sienna's (except she spells it with one 'n') and it's not a big deal, my Sienna thinks it's kind of cool that she has her own baby Siena lol.
