just wondering what the tell tale signs are as to weither you are having twins or not?
also how early can you find out?

Emma had really bad m/s and my aunty was incredibly tired. You may however have to wait for a scan for it to be confirmed.

Normally it's increased symptoms of early pregnacy...bad morning sickness etc.

As Sarah Beth said though....it will be the scan that will reveal all!

Are there fraternal twins down your mothers side of the family? That will increase your chances. Identical twins pop up randomly.

Yep my uncle was a twin (one stillborn)
also they are huge in jamies side of the family

Luckily (or unluckily if you want twins) the male side doesn't effect if you get twins or not...but if fraternals are in your mothers side then......

When do you have your first scan?

well I had one.. but was only 5 1/2 weeks, the lady doing the scan said it was too small to tell (she could hardly see the baby in the first place!)
My midwife is going to get ahold of me sometimes this week to arrange our first meeting, so Ill ask her then

well i didnt find out for sure until my first scan at 20 weeks. Was tired but as first preg didnt know any different. The midwife keep saying my dates were wrong and taht i was further along but i def knew i wasnt so she keep saying might be twins. Wish she had sent me for an early scan. Also did my preg test the day b4 my period and got a pos would have been only 2-3 weeks but told can get an earlier + when preg with twins.
If you are hoping for twins then wishing you luck.
Twins rock (i say that as they are sleeping like angels) lol

I too like Marlene found out at 20 weeks that i was having twins. I had really bad moring sickness and my midwife said my fundus (sp?) felt higher then it should have been but being my second pregnancy everything has already streched. Also i felt movements quite early. I never thought that it could have been twins and when i found out it was a hell of a shock.
If you are having twins WOW how cool.

I was 9 weeks, had a scan for bleeding. I did wonder when my hcG levels were high early on but at 6 weeks on the U/S there was only one. If I hadn't had some spotting I wouldn't have found out till 12 weeks.

Oh and the m/s and tiredness was no different to when I was preg with Maya, it's actually been a bit better this time.

oh tastic I hope it is twins for you....
I also wish for twins sarah beth = but id even take triplets!!! DH thinks im nuts and he would go fishing permanently....LOL
We have twins all down my mothers lineage...some triplets...and in my cousins family she and her brother are twins as are her sister and other brother!!! So there is hope there
