Hope you find one. At 18 weeks I'd only heard Bubs heartbeat at one MW app, I think that's pretty standard.

Kmart here in palmy have them but I cant guarentee the quality of them at that price $50, I wanted one but knew I would panic if I couldnt hear the heartbeat so decided not to go there. I recorded my babys heartbeat at one of my midwife appts onto my cellphone for DH cos he couldnt make it to the appt, so I listen to that all the time- best sound in the world. Also I can feel baby moving. You can always ask the sonographer if they will turn the sound on for you so you can hear it! Mine has done it for me.

We started to be able to hear HB with a stethoscope around 26 weeks (and that is with a high quality scope as DH is a doctor). We also heard it around 26 weeks with DS too. We did try before that but can be really hard to locate. Still takes us a while sometimes as there is so much otehr noise going on in there!!!!
Guess what I am saying is you might want to get a doppler depending on how long you can wait
