Hey guys. Sorry this is very much a negative, vent kind of thread. But I feel like I've hit rock bottom. I'm only just coming up to 7 weeks and from 5 weeks I've been suffering from this. I had it with my last pregnancy with DS. Had severe nausea and vomiting my entire pregnancy. Up until today I've been feeling very relaxed and like I can get through this. But I think it's all getting to me now. I'm loosing weight and am only 40kg to start with. I can't go to work. Was in hospital this week for rehydration and am on cyclizine and zofran. I'm allergic to maxlon and stemetil doesn't really work, and makes me really, really drowsy. I've tried pretty much everything else. Last pregnancy these drugs kinda just helped to keep the edge of things. I also feel that Zofran worked a lot better last time. Just wondering, has anyone tried acupuncture for this and did it help? I've heard through the grapevines that it can be helpful. Am thinking of finding somewhere and booking myself in. Thanks in advance for any advice I know it's gonna be worth it in the end.

kebakat had acupuncture for her MS and I know she found it really helpful. You could PM her in case she doesn't see this thread

Hope it works for you - if you give it a go - I have bad MS that's still going but it's NOTHING compared to HG. I really feel for you.

Acupuncture coincided with my hyperemesis improving - I was about 14 weeks or so...it didn't fix it, but it got a bit better (along with still using the zofran and other anti-emetics). I also had sea bands. I was underweight to begin with too (BMI 17 initially) so was worried about the weight loss thing too......

TAKE CARE...and I think anyone with HG deserves a "negative vent type thread"...don't apologise!

Yup I had it. The earlier you start it the more likely it is to help apparently. My first session was at 8 weeks. I went from throwing up approx 5 times a day to throwing up once a day but only when it started wearing off. It isn't a long term fix so I found. I found it gave me 3-4 awesome days then a couple of feeling a bit worse (but not as bad as before i started) and then I'd have another session and start over.

, feel free to vent away, sending lots of good wishes your way! Thankfully I never had much MS, let alone HG, but acupuncture has worked wonders on other mummy ailments for me (it brought my milk in when even domperidone didn't!), so I say go for it . If there's even a little chance it might keep you out of hospital it's worth a go...

Thanks for the kind words and advice.   HG is the most horrid thing and I would never wish it upon anyone. I definately think acupuncture is worth a try. Why not, I've tried everything else and who know's it may just work!
