Topic: Present for midwife?? Posted: 30 August 2010 at 9:11am |
We are about to be signed off by our midwife. She's been great and I thought it would be nice to give her a little something. Did you give your midwife a present, and if so, what??

Flowers, Lillies in fact because our daughter is named after them, we got red ones because it's my fave colour which just so happened to be the MWs fave colour too!
What about a hamper? Or gift vouchers...

I never did but wish I had! I had every intention of getting her something but then kinda got busy with the baby etc! I remembered a few months ago that I hadn't got her anything but by then I thought it was a bit late! Might make a card for Xmas with a pic of Isla on the front and give her a bunch of flowers or something and let her know how we are getting on! Even tho Isla will be 10 months old by then........ lol slack I know!
But yea I would have got a small hamper or something

We got our MW a chunky silver pendant which I knew would suit her.
I also has great intentions of sending her a photobook when the girls turned 1 but I never quite got around to that.

I would suggest you make a card with a favourite photo of your bubba, put details inside like name, DOB, weight etc. I just had a lovely woman do the same for me, and it was gorgeous I love momentos like that.

Sorry!
I was meant to bump some threads for you, but I got called away from the computer.
I ended up getting my MW a funky coffee mug and some of her favourite chocolate.
I've also printed off a photo of Hannah and Mason for her (since she was my mw both times) to put in her thank you card, and also done the same (but only Mason) for her student who attended my last 4 meetings and helped deliver Mason.
LB, thanks for the tip on writing details.. I'll pop those on the back of the photos

Only twice - once was some chocolates (Roses?) and another time I did some baking because my mw's DH and I share the same allergy.

We got our 2nd mw a vase with those marble things at the bottom from Farmers about 10 years ago, cost maybe $20 but this time with our wee man we got our mw one of those really nice green glass carvings at $50 from one of those wee art deco places at Westfield Manukau. She totally deserved it as we had a HBA2C and she was the bomb hmm, not sure what to get her this time round with our next bubs due Boxing Day..lol..
