Josh is still in his bassinet and he loves it, however he is getting a bit too long for it. I have been putting him in his cot for his day sleeps and some are good and some are not so good. I tried to put him to sleep in his his cot last night and he protested some bad and when I maved him to his bassinet he was asleep in 2 minutes. Any ideas to help me get him to sleep at night in his cot.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

i have only just put jordis into her cot at night, but she has been having day sleeps in it for a while.

things i could think of, could you put the (unwashed) sheets from the bassinet on the cot? so it smells the same?
maybe you could move his bassinet into his room for a few nights and let him sleep in it, so he gets used to the different room at night first?

um not much else i can think of, as jordis has had 2 bad sleeps in her cot, so i dont know what to do with her either!

stick the basinette in the cot for a few sleeps then slowly trasnition him from there. chancs are he likes being closed in. you could also roll up a nappy or towel and stick it at the end by his feet so he still has those familiar boundaries - you can also do this at each side of him.

Yep we did the rolled up towel thing, and also put a nappy over the bars so she couldnt see out which helped.

We were lucky as Tyrell moved pretty easily...He was just too long for the bassinet. Plunket suggested the towels thing also.
