Have any other Mums out there been on the Trifeme pill???
I left NZ in Jan to live in Canada for the year and brought enough Trifeme to last me 10 mths - my Doctor was nice enough to stock me up - and said I could get more in a few mths time - but turns out I will be 2 mths short - as now I hear from my NZ doctor that Trifeme is no longer available. Has this happened to anybody else?

Does anyone else know of a similar pill?? I really don't want to be forced to go back on Noramin - which gave me horrible side effects

Looking forward to some feedback!

kimmies - try googling the active medication etc and go into walgreens and see if they have the equivalent in canada (I think they have walgreens there) or any pharmacy really. I took in a drug I was using and they found the equivalent US drug for me. You will have more chance of sourcing it over there than here. Good luck.

Thanks Kiwi2. Will try. Would have preferred to have got it from NZ as prescription drugs seem to be SO expensive over here!

Going to try and get in to see a doctor this week, so will make sure I take my current prescription with me

Just go to the pharmacist to find the name of the equiv drug. My pharmacist just looked it up on the computer that maybe drs don't have access to. Do you have insurance as then the doctor can prescribe it and it shouldn't cost so much. Unless you are still going thru the deductible.

As for NZ it may be under a different name. I know a lot of drugs changed around july this year when the subsides all got revamped. Maybe a family member could check the pharmacy here to see if there is another pill that has the same ingredients. The government often changes brands if they are cheaper yet it is still the exact same pill.

Yeah I was on this too.

I can't remember the name of the one I was changed to.

I have 2 months left but we are TTC now. If you want them.

Thanks guys that is really helpful :)

I might have my pharmacist back home in NZ look into it (or a family member go in and check for me) and also try a pharmacist here in Canada. We have a health card here - for doctors visits - but no drug plan and no health insurance - as it was too expensive to be covered for the full year of being overseas on a teaching exchange....and as we have found, prescription drugs are horrendously expensive in Nth America.
