Well after one perfect child and three consecutive MC (LPD) it doesnt seem fair that we now are having trouble concieving. We have always gotten pregnant first try - four times now, andI am frustrated that my specialist is giving me the '4 months is not a long time some couples take ages to concieve' line. THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR ME! Why don't Doctors ever believe that we know our own bodies and what is normal for us.
I had medical management of the last MC which is the first time as the previous two occurred naturally. The hospital (mistakenly) thought there were still products inside and admitted me pumping me full of Misoprostyl ever four hours before finally realising nothing else was going to come up. I am now worried that that may have damaged my lining in some way and now we are conceiving but not implanting. I know I am ovulating because we use the testers.
It has now been 6 months since the last MC and who knows how long it will take us to get preg again, and then when we do the changes of going to term arent high. My is this happening to us? Im only 29 it doesnt seem right!

Hi JHS, it may just be that there is something wrong with the embryo and your body knows this so is rejecting the baby. I have had two miscarriages, both at exactly 11.5 weeks and they discovered they i have a chromosomal disorder which means that the baby doesnt have the right amount of DNA data to continue to grow so my body discards it.

Generally after your 3rd miscarriage they would do a little more investigating but because you have a child they may be waiting a little longer?? I would be pushing them to look into it a little more. It seems odd to have 3 in a row - this must be painful for you.

Dont give up hope JHS

Thanks Amyray. I have done a lot of tests etc and they are pretty sure I have Luteal Phase Defect, which basically means low progesterone, they have given me pills with the last two but it didnt help. There doesnt really seem to be much they can do and have said to just keep trying, but this not conceiving thing has got me worried. As if recurrent miscarraige isnt enough to worry about.

Try and stay positive JHS.
I understand the pain and frustration you must be having but you have to remember that you know you can fall pregnant and carry to term because you already have a beautiful son!
Keep trying and dont give up, there may be some alternative therapies you could try? There are some great natural products you can get from the local health shop called Femzone and Vitex. They are supposed to help with premenstrual support and menstrual balance. They were a great help to me after my MCs and before i found out that i actually had a chromosomal imbalance.
Best of luck for the next bubba

JHS, i am confused, did they give you pills AFTER you were pregnant as I don't see how that would help. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought with LPD the embryo might be fertilised but then does not have long enough to implant - so you would need to be taking the pills when you were trying to conceive.   But hey I am not a specialist, just a confused person!

Def try some of the tricks you can do to lengthen the luteal phase as it sounds like you have no trouble getting pregnant, just lengthening this should help somewhat?

Also what do you mean you are concieving not implanting? Are you meaning that you are having chemical pregnanices?

Im not really sure what a chemical pregnancy is. I just mean I am worried that the fertalised egg is not implanting and so I am having my period as usual - I don't have any proof of this but am just not used to having to wait to concieve - always usually get preg first pop.
Sorry wasnt very clear - they gave me progesterone prior to and during the last two pregnancies. I have to start taking it the day after ovulation and continue it until I get my period or continue if I am pregnant. I am told LPD is about not producing progesterone for long enough, so the embryo implants and grows well until 4-6 weeks when the hormone levels die off. I generally start bleeding around 8 weeks and MC around 9.
I have been taking B6 for 6 months as that is meant to help, and am considering accupuncture too.

Hi there JHS,

I am going through the exact same thing at the moment. I have a wonderful 4yr old boy and have been trying for n0 2 for almost 4 yrs.
I have just had my 2nd progesterone test today (I had to tell my dr that waiting to test till day 21 was the best he didn't really know).
you seem to be a few steps ahead of me though.
My MC's were at 8 weeks and the ectopic was at 7 weeks. I also have had a chemical pregnancy.

People say to get to know your cycle, I think I do but I also wonder if things change from month to month.

I have gone from having strict 30 day cycles to now being pushed out to 36 to 40 days, I used to ov on day 15 and now it more like day 20 21.

Have the Dr's put you on clomid? and are you using creams?
I find it really hard to see the different approaches of different Dr's, completely frustrating!!!

Hi Trying4No2!

I think you would benefit greatly from seeing a doctor at the Fertility clinic if you have not seen anyone yet. I have severe endometriosis and have had 2 MC's. I have been TTC for nearly 5 years. My 2nd MC was through an IUI cycle that i had through the Fertility Clinic and they ran some tests after that MC and have discovered that i have a chromosomal disorder which is unbelievably common and the reason behind most MC's. In the last couple of months I have been through an IVF cycle with PGD. This is where they perform IVF and then send the egg cells over to Australia to be tested for the correct chromosomes before implanting them back into to you. So far i am 5w4d pregnant!! This cycle was fully government funded and did not cost us anything although you do need to qualify on a points scale to get the funding.

I fully recommend seeing someone at the fertility clinic. They are a fantastic help.

Best of luck
