Hey all thanks for all the advice about work and breastfeeding.

I will probably leave work at 33 weeks esp since I found out that I have placenta pravia so if that doesnt move will be a pain!

Lisa I was also having a nosey at your photos and it seems how kiddies have a wee friend in common!
Hope you have a nice trip away too!

Bummer about the placenta previa, Becky. Hope it still moves, or you will probably need a c-section . Oh well, as long as the bubbas are coming out healthy, the HOW is not the most important thing.

Does anyone know how the home help works for multiples?

Do they pay the whole amount to the person?

Is it taxed?

Will they pay it to me if I wanted to pay a cleaner cash?

We did ours through Nannies Plus and it was paid to Nannies Plus who then deducted the amount off our bill. I don't think they will pay it direct to you, it has to be paid to either an agency or direct to the person. I would recommend going to see them before the twins arrive and get the paper work started or at least understand more how it works. It was a real pain to organise but worth it!

Hi ladies, I've got a question. How has everyone put their twins cots? Across from each other, so that they can see each other (and egg each other on ) or on adjoining walls? We're only just moving our girls into their own room into two cots - they've still been sleeping in one cot together (top and tail) until now .

Hey Hibiscus

Our babies have been sleeping in their own cots side by side (the long sides) so they can see & babble to each other since we came home from the hospital at 6wks old. Once they are out of their wraps & safety sleeps they'll be able to touch/hit/pull hair(if they had any) - which may or may not be a good thing & we may end up moving them to opposite sides of the room Time will tell I guess???

Our boys are in our wardrobe which basically has enough room for one cot against each wall, like an L shape. We are extending the house and want to try and keep them in the 'wardrobe' until there new room is ready. They have always slept here so don't know any difference.

Recently Daniel worked out how to get out of this cot so was quite often found in Elliots cot (very cute) but we've since lowered his cot so it can't be done anymore. They don't seem to both each other, on occasions will play when they wake up but thats about it

Side by side so they can see & talk to each other. The only issue for us is that one won't go to sleep when the other one isn't in her bed. But I can live with that, it's so cute to see them turn their heads as soon as they lie down or wake up in order to see the other.

Thanks. Lol, had to laugh though when you said you had them 'in your wardrobe' .
Wannabe, your babies look super cute in your siggy photo.

We have to shift furniture around and DP needs to hook up computers and internet in different rooms so our girls can go into their own room. I really want to do the change now though, as it is only going to get harder later.

Lovely news for Fullhouse.

Can I tell you something shocking... DS and DD are in different rooms since 9 months old!

They had the same room but I just got so over DD waking poor DS up. She still wakes in the night 1-2 times and usually only needs a wee cuddle to go back to sleep but some times she will wake and not settle for 1-2 hours which is what she has been doing the last three nights grr

Other twins mums seem to think its a bit odd but they have plenty of 'twin moments' during the day which are very cute and if they want the same room when they are older we will try that but as girl+boy they will want they own space anyway. DS will usually sleep through the night he seems to need his sleep more than her so it works for us.

That's really interesting Jules. DH & I have been discussing seperate rooms cos one of my girls sleeps 7pm - 7am and the other is waking anytime from 4.30am onwards and carries on so much she ends up waking her sister.

We probably won't do it at this stage cos it would mean we lose our spare room and we'd have to heat two rooms and we can do without the added expense. But it's food for thought.

I guess we are lucky because Elliot is such a good sound sleeper and his brother doesn't wake him. If Daniel wakes up we tend to take him out of his bed and bring him to ours but this doesn't happen very much

hi ladies

we had the boys together in the cot until they were 7 months (4 months corrected). Then moved them into their room and they were on different walls. Even now they are in toddler beds on the opposite walls. Some nights they asked to be pushed together which is quite cute - until they bounce round from bed to bed that is

Yay I'm back!

Becky - Friend in common? Do you mean Tinka? Do you know Liv?

Sorry Welly ladies I was never able to do a meet up. When we got there We ended up barely having enough time to do all the things we wanted with hubbys family. But holidays always seem to be like that We actually flew home on Monday when the most recent CHCH earthquake happened. Was so glad we missed it! We were just boarding a plane from New Plymouth to Wellys when it happened. Then we got stuck in Wellington airport for 3 hours trying to get another flight to CHCH as ours was cancelled. Made it home on a special flight though so I was happy. Kids were seriously over it all.

On to other news we started toilet training yesterday Jess is home until Monday as his workplace needs repairs to the roof so we figured we would dive headfirst into this toilet thing while he's home for support. So far so good. We went out and brought 30 pairs of pink undies, flushable wipes, a sticker chart for incentive and a toilet seat for little bums. Hazel seems to be getting the hang of things quite quickly but I think Esme will take a little longer. I'm already feeling like I'm spending 90% of my days sitting outside the toilet waiting for something to happen lol.
