Topic: UTI or just pressure? *TMI* Posted: 12 September 2010 at 6:14pm |
Hi ladies
Ive been having a problem for about the last week or so where sometimes if I need to go to the toilet, it gets kinda sore and I have to get to the toilet right away or I feel like Im not going to make it.
Also I have times where I have to go and think I really need to but when I get there there's not much iykwim.
Im not sure if this is a UTI or just pressure on my bladder. I do think the baby is head down as he's kicking up high lately, so is it possible he's putting pressure on my bladder which is making it feel like this?
I have the pain sometimes like I said if I leave it too long or before I go to the toilet, but not actually when I go... which I know painful urination is a symptom of a UTI, but not sure if pain before that and not during is? If that makes sense lol
Im going to call the specialist tomorrow and have a test but was just wondering if this had happened to anyone else and if I need to be worried, thanks

I personally have not had a UTI while pg but I get that kind of pain... with both my pg. I have always put it down to baby pressing on the nerves that tell me I need to pee.... Sometimes it feels like a lightening bolt through my vjj!
Having said that, I would definately be getting a UTI ruled out as they can spread quickly to a kidney infection and you dont want either really do you!

I feel like that all the time too, some days worse than others. I am pretty sure that in my case it is just pressure on my bladder.
But if you are concerned it is something more, definitely get it checked out.

I didn't get anything like that when pg, but, when I had a UTI I had the exact symptoms you are explaining. Would be worth getting it checked just to be sure I'd say.

With my 2nd baby I was like that and it was normal. With my 1st I was like that and it wasn't. Go see your midwife.

I get that pain too but this pg I also had a UTI around the same time and had the same symptoms you're talking about, it never actually hurt during urination but I had a CONSTANT feeling of needing to go. It drove me up the wall.
Get it ruled out and some ABs if you need them. ABs should clear it up pretty quickly, UTIs are no fun!
