A friend of mine is over being pregnant, her mw said anytime now but she want some ideas on how to help induce labour.
Any ideas would be appreciated

Spicy food, sex, squatting (head puts more force on cervix). is all i can think of.

just wanted to add i sympathise with your friend, i know how frustrating and boring the end of pregnancy can be , the novelty of being pregnant has worn off, i went 8 days over and thought i would never give birth, maybe you should also mention that instead of running about trying all these different things she should get lots of rest too, cos when the babies here she probably wont get much !

Yup, I tried it all and STILL had to be induced 12 days past due date  !

This was the same with me, & we had to have c-section, no way she was coming out!!! (by herself)

We covered this last night at antenatal class. The teacher said nipple stimulation has probably the best effect  You have to do it for 20mins every couple of hours though. Even in America (very pro medical) recommends this.

Something i never tried, but i guess if it did work I may have broken my back or pelvic bone
But then something out there may of fixed my bones

She has abot a week to go. I did tell her that if baby wasnt ready to come nothing would work but she still wanted to try.

we tried everything too and nothing worked. baby will come when it's ready. i too sympathise, charli was a week overdue and i was sooooooo over it!!!
