Topic: we were broken into Posted: 01 February 2008 at 9:40pm |
totally unbelievable, take Rhiannon out swimming for an 90mins come home to our alarm going off, and our bedroom window (which i might add, Kent shut before we left, and you would have to be a size 0 to get through) was open...walk through the door and the phone is ringing and a girl on the other ends proceeds to tell me that she has had 15 calls from our hm ph to her cell phone and she has logged a call with vodafone as a nusican (sp) call...i then tell her that we have just gotten home to find our alarm going off, and that we had had someone in here.
The amazing part is that NOTHING was taken, all the did was use the phone, Kents wallet was on teh dressing table, and everything was in it...totally amazing.
We have rung the cops, and they will be here tomorrow to fingerprint the window, so have to sleep with our window open tonight...was only a month ago that stuff was stolen from our driveway and smashed.
I cant wait till we move.

oh kazzle sorry to hear that hon!
close the windows - they dont usually get good prints anyways!!! dont chance the person coming back when they see the window open. They will most likely catch them with the link to the girl they were annoying...
Big hugs and hope you get some sleep tonight....

its amazing we have security doors on both doors, and alarm system and every window but the bedroom one has secure stays on them, which btw once the police have been it will have one as well.
It defintely had to be a kids as there is no way an adult no matter how skinny would fit through the window as it doesnt open very wide

Same thing as in our Tauranga house. We had two little windows in the kitchen that some beggar got in through. Alarm went off though and every other window has stays on them so they could only get back out the way they came. All they got was one video.
It's quite common for these sods to take their younger siblings along, put them through a window and get them to go and unlock a door too.
Sounds like stupid kids in your place playing pranks on someone.

Hugs Kaz, that's awful!
Even the police didn't believe how the girl got into our place thru the window she did, but she did. Scary what some people will go to.

Cops never turned up to print our place after they said they would... I wouldn't be hanging out for it. We lost 3 grand of stuff too - before we had insurance.
On the bright side it was all Mike's gaming stuff - over a grand worth of warhammer models, and paints, and his computer... could've been worse, could've been Seb's stuff. (actually all his 0-6month photos were on that computer, and my digital camera was taken... )
Now we have insurance, and it makes me feel so much better... I was scared to go out of the house after we got robbed.

What a stange thing to happen - I mean it wasn't really a robbery. Surely that's a lot of effort for someone to get into just to use a phone
Hope you have more luck with the new place

morning.
we are just waiting for Kents parents to find a place they like as we are buying there place, and we have another couple of weekends stuff to do, and then at beginning of march our house is going on the market, and we are moving to Ascot Park (porirua).
Edited to add, that im not holding my breath for the police to come, especially since nothing was taken, but i didnt sleep well last night, kept dreaming someone was climbing in the window above my bed

Hope you find a new place soon.

Kaz! It's an awful feeling knowing that someone has been in your house. Thankfully the police did catch the kids that broke into our house, but as they were only 13 & 14 sweet FA happened to them
Hope it won't be too much longer before you get to move
