Oh my god I dont even know where to start!! We are on a tight budget so I dont want anything to expensive, Im looking on the net but I just dont really know where to start....
Does anyone know of any nice places or have any nice idea's where to have a nice quite fairly small wedding?
Me and DF want to set a date, its going to be in Feb/March 09 so the weather should be nice......I was thinking beach wedding, but then you get people walking past and stuff..
Eeeekk so stressful already and its only just starting!

Don't know if you have been told but NZweddingplanner is a good place to look. There are a few girls there that are here and a lot of us that have been there done that and are now here.

Threre are a couple of places that we considered when we were looking for a venue - the winter gardens in the Domain are stunning, we have been to a wedding in summer there and it was out by the pool and lovely!
Piha / Bethells / KareKare - any of the west coast beaches (you can find a nice quiet spot at the far end of the beaches - but its a long way from the city).
If you wanted to get married somewhere and have your reception at the same place - check out the zoo / motat - they do some great packages and have some fun 'locations' for the actual ceremony.
Also worth checking out some of the yacht clubs and places like that. They often have really lovely locations and nice rooms for the reception (and can often cater a reception package to suit your budget!)
Good Luck!

i got married at the wintergardens in the domain - in march too and it was lovely. there is a charge for most outside venues but not a large one. if a beach wedding you have to think of things like if its windy sand will get everywhere, can everybody you want to invite (like older relatives) walk to the beach safely, and what you wear will be influenced too - no heels on the bech, way too hard to walk in unless you wanted to carry them.
totara park, cornwall park, how bout somewhere with a beach view. maybe a marina?

I was going to get married at Piha. Ceremony on the beach and reception at either Barnett Hall or at the Backpackers - My friend owns it and it backs onto the creek overlooking the bush. Its a beautiful venue. Piha Beachstay
Can hire the whole place for the cost of usualy venue and that includes accommodation for 16.
Anywhere that's a public place, you'll get some interest. But I think most people are respectfull of your privacy.
Depends where you want to get married - East Coast or West Coast. Long Bay is lovely, so is Cheltenham Beach (Devonport).

There's a place out at Bethells where you can get married & have the reception too. I think it's called Bethell's Beach cottages or something like that.
