What teat would you recommend for a 7-8 week old boy for a first time bottle. I have just started expressing and I need to get a teat for the bottles I have.

you can get a tommee tippee bottle that is a lot like a nipple, as some babies wont take a bottle very easy (however Eden did because she was starving) but it is a complete bottle and teat. these teats only fit the fatter tommee tippee bottles, for the simple fact they are like a nipple and areola.
Get stage 1 teats, it will say on the package or it will have 1 tear drop shape on the packaging to indicate the age 0-3month. anything for a baby over 3months isnt good for a newborn as it can cause milk to come out too fast and can cause baby to get colic.
hope this helps honey

Yep I would recommend the Tommpee Tippe Closer to Nature ones for a breast fed baby too. Isla wouldnt take the advent bottles. Just get one or 2 and try before u buy loads of one brand!

Daniel took the Avent bottles easily while being BF at the same time. But the TT closer to nature ones are quite good too.
Not all teats fit all bottles. Most you have to buy the specific teat to match the bottle.

Greer is just about 7 weeks and has the Avent slow flow teats (2 holes), not the newborn ones with one hole. The slow flow ones say 1 month + on them.

Pur teats fit the medela range, JD, however, I found those teats pretty useless and went with avent...

I've always used Avent with both my kids, and had no problems with them. But I do like the look of the TT closer to nature bottles. Maybe start on no. 1 teats, and if that goes ok move onto no. 2's.

I use the Avent ones - I have no trouble with them.
However, Hannah was fed with them a couple of times in her second week as my nipples were really broken and I wanted to give them a "rest" (the expressing still hurt, but was less so than the razor-gummed Hannah!). So she got used to it pretty quickly.
But the TT ones that have been mentioned are what my Plunket Nurse recommends.

Closer to Nature bottles are awesome!!! Highly recommend them .. Keziah is 5 months old and is still on a size 1 teat as she's quite a slow feeder so takes her sweet time LOL
