Topic: whats wrong? Posted: 30 June 2007 at 8:57am |
Jake has a fever - but the weirdest thing is these spots - all over his feet, up on his thighs, a few on his bum, on his upper arms. It looks like heat rash, buthow can someone get heat rash when they spend their days running around in their underwar (we've had "dressing issues"). Not off his food, and energetic as usual - is currently swinging in closet again being a monkey - I know chicken pox is going around - his friends have it - but we havent' seen them in ages AND the rash doesn't look like chicken pox on the internet.
any ideas? BTW have given pamol so that may be why he's hypo.

if he was too hot last night that could cause heat rash. otherwise i would take him to the docs... i remember once taking gabriel to the docs cause i thought he had the pox, turned out it was insect bites... ooops, bad mummy.!

Have you done the glass trick that they use for MenzB? If he has spots+fever I'd be getting it checked out today.

Jayden was chronic for getting spots everytime his temp went up even slightly. And he never used to wear clothes.
Also lots of viruses can cause spots.
I usually do the glass thing, but if in doubt take him to the docs.
Hope He better soon!

def. not menz spots. spots aren't doing anything - not really spreading, although there are a few more than before, but none really disappearing and he seems happy as...hmmm, mystery illness.

Well if he's feeling ok then I'd just keep an eye on it. Sore tummy or more spots would be the concern for me. I also get heat rash from time to time, sometimes it was just because I overdressed for bed and then it takes a couple of days to settle down.

Joey often gets random rashes when he is sick. I always take him to the doctor (paranoid mum hehehehe) and they always tell me it's a "non-specific viral rash"
Hope Jake feels better soon!

virus! We took him in, mainly cause we had run out of pamol and it's cheaper to pay saturday fees than pay for a non-prescribed bottle! (what a cheapie!), but also, my gf is coming around tonight for rugby action and is seven months preggers with twin girls, so thought we should rule out chicken pox (not that the boys will be awake, but anyway)
