Topic: Where do you buy your baby clothes? Posted: 06 February 2009 at 9:03am |
We had soooooooooooooo much given to us when Finley was born but it was all in tiny sizes or huge sizes, so we are set for about 1 year and we were fine when he was really little, but for about now we really need to get some bits and pieces and i'm just curious where people think the best bargains/stuff is?

I buy most of DS clothes from TnT - I find they wash well and last well.
I also buy some basics from The Warehouse and haven't had any issues.
Baby City - also have some cheap clothes in their sales - would never pay full price for their stuff but you can often pick up bargains and there stuff lasts well.
Farmers is a bit iffy, I have found. Some stuff is great and some is terrible and is out of shape in its first wash.
Think that covers my sons wardrobe.

I find the babyfactory good also - but only when they have the 40-50% sales they have good branded stuff and it normally last well. They also have great $3-5 t-shirts and shorts for summer and trackies for winter for when the girls go to kindy (we love messy play in our house )

We are mostly T&T and I quite like their stuff but we will get things from PP and JK if they are on special or we goto the outlet stores. I don't like the JK Everyday range though, the things we have bought haven't had much stretch in them and can be difficult to stretch over heads and get their arms through. .
T&T have lots of great specials though when you can get t-shirts and pants/shorts for $2.50 or thereabouts.

T&T is great for when they start solids and you want them to be wearing clothes that can get filthy and you don't care. Same with Postie Plus.
Best thing is to shop during the end of season sales for the following year. T&T sizes can be a bit wacky though - I find there's a 6 month spread for Rowan (3 months either side of her age).

We go to pretty much anywhere that there is a good sale but I have found that The Warehouse, Farmers and the Baby Factory to be the best places for us.
We get the odd thing from JKs and Pumpkin Patch but is quite expensive for things that they are going to grow out of so fast.

Op shops are great for "round home" clothes - we often get a whole supermarket bag full for $2 and its all great quality .

T&T has been recommended to me, they don't have a website yet but if you go here http://www.tandt.co.nz/ there's a list of stores.

to be honest, Trade Me is the best place for us. But I do keep an eye out in pumpkin patch for when stuff is super cheap. I have a massive bunch of NB-3m boy stuff i'll be listing on TM soon.

Thought I'd check out the T n T website link with store details, since so many have recommended it - poor coverage in the South Island though! Not worth a drive to Christchurch from Dunedin, I'm afraid!

Mostly T&T and baby Factory, baby City, PP and JK if they are on special.
I also look on Trade Me sometimes and Im actually going to check out Farmers next time as mum said they have a good range and the prices are not too bad.
At this stage though, cos he is growing out of things so fast we tend to stick with T&T and The Baby Factory.
