When you start your baby on whole milk which one is it? lite blue, trim or the dark blue?

and we read in the paper a few weeks ago about the A1 and A2 .............A2 being the one you should buy....was looking at this in the supermarket but did you think i could find any of them with A2 written on it.

You need to buy Dark Blue for him. It actually says on the Lite blue/green bottles that it is not suitable for infants.

   Yeah we use Dark Blue.

Sterryn thats quite interesting that you mention that about the lite top bottles, a lot of the mums on here said they use lite blue/green milk when I was asking the same question as Tysmummy, obviously they haven't read the bottles

A2 milk is great for people with lactose intolerance as it's the A1 protein that they're allergic to. If your child doesn't have a lactose intolerance then don't worry about A2.

Just remember to start him gradually, whatever milk you decide to move him to.

Yeah as Jo said above it is a gradual process. You may find Ty won't like it as much as formula and it will take a while of getting used to.

My boy certainly still prefers breastmilk over cows milk, he tends to spray it everywhere more so than drink it!

My understanding was under 2 they need the full milk so therefore the dark blue top. Over 2 can have the light blue top.

McKayla is still on breastmilk so we just get the lite blue . She drinks one to two cups a day from that at night and because she eats a lot of yogurt and cheese I am not too worried about the full milk plus she is over 2.

Google A2 Milk and its the top one - there is a section on Where to buy, its pretty restricted as they only distribute through a couple of places, we can get it in Tauranga and my sister can get it at farmers markets in Whangarei (my nephew has to have it) and I think Rotorua from memory but not sure other than that. Our supermarket has it and a few fruit and vege places.
Use the dark blue milk if under 2, my daughter is fine on it, but you will find if you are going from formula to whole milk that you go through so much, we put her back on one bottle of formula a day just to cut down on how much milk we were buying - this was before she started on sippy cups during the day and was having 3 big bottles a day, now we are fine as she has cut down a lot!!!

Yup, we go thru around 9 litres of blue top a week, the bugger is that I'm too lazy/cheap to buy two different types of milk so the fatties in this house are getting full fat milk as well. Just as well I don't drink a lot of milk.
