Topic: Why do I feel uneasy?     Posted: 05 January 2008 at 8:19pm |

Our family is about to go away for a week. Since my brother boards here and will be staying here this week, no issue arises as to security, but we do have 5 bedrooms so plenty of space that can be used. DH suggested to me that we could offer our place to married friends of ours who are in between houses at the moment and staying at the couple's husband's parents' home (with them). Now we have known these guys for a while. DH has known the husband for 14 years or so and each of them were best man at the other's wedding. But I couldn't help but feel uneasy with them staying in our place - and probably our bed - for a week with us gone. I felt a bit like my privacy could be invaded somehow just with them in the place I call home.

 Am I weird?

No totally normal. I would feel weird about someone sleeping in my bed too.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

No not weird! My sis and bil and kids stayed here on Xmas night while we were up in Auckland. It even felt weird knowing family were going to be sleeping in our bed      Of course they left the house as they found it and stripped the bed etc

No. I hate people sleeping in our bed too. I always feel uneasy about it - and it's usually just my sister who housesits for us when we go away.

I think you should find another option for sleeping , they don't need to sleep in your room.

I'm not bothered about the kitchen or the 'puter - but then, it's only ever close family for me.

I would def feel strange having anyone in our bed. Maybe they can sleep somewhere else.
As for the computer, not sure how I'd feel. I think for most part I'd be OK with it - I'd just make sure I've taken off all the auto log ons to things like Trade me and oh baby
Kitchen I'm def OK with

   Its not strange,
I still feel like a naughty teenager when we stay at either of our parents place.

We're lucky enough to have a spare room with a double sofa bed so I stick people in there.
