A luteal phase defect can be treated CQ. You can get prescribed progesterone supplements to help support your hormones during the 2WW. There are other options that can be customised for your situation too. Definitely talk to your GP or your fertility specialist. They will monitor you for a few cycles and then determine your best treatment options. All is not lost.  Also, there is much more variation in LP's than what Dr Google suggests so don't panic too much. Eight days is on the low side, but many women can and do hold onto sticky beans with a little medical support and know how.  Best wishes, remember that when it comes to your fertility and desire to grow your family that proactive consultations are best. The years can slip away so fast and all of a sudden you find yourself in the twilight of your fertility window with little options. I look forward to you getting your BFP and healthy happy bubba soon.
TTC our 3rd child 5+ yrs. Self-funding. Over 55 medicated cycles. 3 m/c's iuis, ivf with ICSI fresh BFN, 1 FET BFN. PCOS horrible. Endo and adhesions from c-sects resected. DH few wrigglers. FAITH!

Well from what I gather at least 10 days... Progesterone levels rise at ov and should continue to rise. Mine however don't rise enough and I spot then get period... Funny tho as I'm always hopeful haha that I will have a fluke difference cycle.

Hello ladies, I am hoping its okay to join you all.

I am on CD14 due to ovulate saturday. May I please be added to the list

A little bit about myself, I am 30 ttc number three. I have a 7 year old and 16 month old. Both girls. It took three years to concieve number 1 then i fell pregnant a year later and unfortunately suffered a miscarriage as a result of a blighted ovum. We then conceived DD 4ish years later. We would dearly love to be blessed with a other baby. We have been actively trying for nine cycles. Im guessing good things take time...

Your one very patient lady Vanz-r :) I envy your patience!!! But like you say, good things do take time I guess huh?

Have you visited any fertility specialists in your years TTC? Or received any help (even by way of supplements etc)?
Do you chart or temp? Or use OPK's?

Just wondering about how you've gone about your TTC journey to concieve your two girls :)

I am 30 this year - I am hoping to conceive #1 by my 30th birthday (which is mid year), but stories like yours are humbling and remind me to be patient and not let the journey and difficulties TTC take a toll on life (or relationship) :)

Unexplained infertility apparently. Hubbys count is above average, I ovulate fine and have had regular cycles throughout. Scans and tests say everything is perfect 'down there'. We were set to start ivf in 2005 but fell pregnant naturally with my eldest. Then we had the blighted ovum when she was 11months. So I decided with effort and patience I can fall pregnant naturally so began trying. I had pretty much given up when I found out I was carrying grace.

Yes I chart, use Opk's. Our doctor wants to refur us to a specialist to hurry things along but I have faith in my body i guess im lucky as my girls keep me pretty busy ttc dosnt take over my life as it used to.
Hubby and I have had ups and downs but nothing major. We dont play the blamb game we feel blessed to have our girls. We both agreed that if ttc caused problems we would just stop. We have a very strong relationship.

Edited just to add DH and I started ttc when I was nearly twenty. We had to pay for specialists ourselves. I did manage to train as a registered nurse while going through all that which also keept me busy

Hey CQ
My fertility is dodgy. I spent nearly 10 years trying to conceive with DH1 to no joy. The marriage was not a good one, so when I realised I cancelled our IVF cycle at last moment and got the courage to go. After a very illuminating year, I met DH2. WOWee! We were flatmates first, he reckons that he had to do 90 first dates before he got anywhere bahaha. Boy if I knew what I was missing, I would have quickened that period of time right up ;-).

Given our respective fertility histories, we decided to chuck the birth control away three months after our proper relationship started. To our utter astonishment we were UTD the month after. cor blimey... what a game changer. Sadly, we lost our little bub just before 10 weeks. We then had an early m/c around 6 weeks a month after that, the same time DH2 Dad passed away. Oh we weren't married at this point. A month after that miscarriage we were UTD with our precious DS1 and 10 weeks after his birth we were UTD with our precious DS2.  We have never stopped trying since but sadly no results.

I have endo and PCOS so for me I have to be quite skinny to conceive. This is torture as the longer it takes the harder it is to be motivated with weight control. At the moment I am half way to my goal weight and on 8DPO on my second cycle of 100mcg of clomid. The first cycle we ovulated but didn't convert (at my age there is only a 10-15% of converting even if everything is perfect). We will meet with our wonderful specialist Paul Henderson again after the third round of clomid to talk about what comes next. Paul has said that we can move to IVF as soon as we stump up with the cash. Maybe this will be in our future. I have a little nest egg (little being the operative word) put aside just in case, however if we need IVF and not IUI then we will need to gather up our courage and slap it on the mortgage. We do not qualify for public funding as we already have kids, we are too old, and my BMI is currently too high. Urgh!

I figure that you don't get to the end of your life thinking, I wish I had made more money, rather you look around at your children, their children, and their children to measure your true worth. Being a parent is the hardest and most rewarding way to spend your time. We are working hard to make it happen again. Ideally, I would like five kids, but time is against us now. I had hoped we would have one every year until we are done. DS2 is about to turn three, so that is three missed years of babies. Sigh.

I wish you all the best with your journey to conceive your number three CQ. For me the grief has been more intense and the wait more deafening than those 10 years I spent trying to conceive all those years ago. I suppose because even though I know I am incredibly blessed to have a wonderful life partner (now husband, we married when I was 6 months pregnant with DS2), I also now know and truly understand what blessings our bubbas are and how much they change us and our lives for the better. I look forward to hearing of your BFPs. I will remember you in my quiet time (meditative prayer) that I use for my own fertility each night. xxx

Sorry for the book.

Hi all my pregnant friends! A BIG thank you to Bubno1, BlueTardis, Talz, heavenly.talker, Charly28, MotherLtd, Mikki and Smoo for your congratulations and kind words. I definitely feel SO grateful to have conceived straight away like I have, I never imagined it would happen so quickly again (I had one normal period three weeks after I had finished bleeding from the miscarriage and bang --- it happened, probably within that first week after my period! I'm still pinching myself!) I feel even more lucky whenever I meet or hear of other couples who are trying and trying to conceive with no luck. Pregnancy is such a miracle in itself as we all know.

I wish all of you who are currently in the Two Week Wait and waiting to test lots of GOOD LUCK. I hope you all get the BFP soon!!!

Talz, I'm so sorry for your loss, my heart goes out to you, that is so sad and heartbreaking! I'm also sending you lots of hugs! XO

I am at six and a half weeks now and so far, all is going well. My boobs have grown and filled out just in the past week (my boyfriend and Mum both noticed over the weekend!) I feel a bit nauseous every now and then but thankfully have no morning sickness. I definitely still have the "baby bladder" and haven't found any real tiredness has hit me (yet!) I'm trying to really look after myself and have faith that this baby is meant to be and this pregnancy will work out perfectly. Fingers crossed.

I had my appointment with my lovely GP yesterday and it was wonderful to tell her the exciting news! She is absolutely delighted for me/us and also thinks it's incredible! She has so many women in their late 30's/early 40's going to see her who are trying and trying to get pregnant. I went through everything on my list with her and she is just awesome as always! I had my first group of blood tests done after my appointment yesterday and have booked in at the Auckland Radiology in Pukekohe for our first scan on Wednesday morning next week which is going to be exciting! Then we have another appointment with Doctor Liz on Monday 17th February (Todd will be able to come with me to all my other appointments, yay!) so we will find out about the blood test and scan results, and she is going to help me find an excellent, local LMC (Midwife).

I have fingers crossed for those of you waiting to ovulate/test and look forward to reading more happy/positive stories in the Two Week Wait and September 2014 Forums.

Boys are such a blessing... mumble mumble, OMG, awww, lol.  Mine are best of friends and worst of enemies. To confound matters they are exactly the same height and weight so we get the 'are they twins?' question 20 times a day. My eldest is average weight and height while the little one is big for his age. They try my patience, they are my joy and delight. Each night when they go to sleep, I want to celebrate by eating chocolate (obviously what, in part, got me to my current fitness plan). Every morning I can't wait for the alarm to go off so they can pile in for their morning snuggles with Mumma and Daddy before we start the day. We are parents hear us roar, we are tired, we are happy Smile
