That's super exciting Mami - a faint line wouldn't worry me too much, had a girlfriend come round one night and she did a test and hardly got a line at all.. She was 6 weeks already as went for a dating scan that week! She had a healthy boy a couple of months ago! Ha anthea.. Mami, mine is the same, it just wouldn't conpute with him at all! Ha ha no, don't use a turkey baster or suringe.. It's actually a bit more complicated than just bunging in some semen! :)

My gosh, it's so hard to keep up on this thread!! Yip it was us starting out with a new business, 3 full on boys also! This month will be the last month trying for a while anyway, it would be due end of Nov so that's close enough to Xmas, don't want a Dec/Jan baby, March and April are the other two's bday's 9 days apart. So might start trying again end of winter

Don't worry about the faint line Mami - it doesn't mean anything bad xxxx
Gosh if I don't feel good there is no way I want sex, that's where the wanking comes in handy lol. Hubby doesn't mind, he wants this baby desperately too and after 2 years 3 months of trying if it works then yay - wonder if that's how I got pregnant this time lol!
Indigo I hope AF arrives soon or the BFP so at least you know where you stand in the cycle.
Ive just managed to move my scan to Monday - it seems so much more bearable than waiting til next Thursday!
Lol Lil so funny you planning when the baby arrives. This baby will be here a week before our 2 year olds 3rd birthday, I will probably still be in hospital then too so shall be interesting!

Oh Indigo, double edged sword a!! So does longer LP mean something significant? I feel I have read something somewhere about that but not a 100%?? Hahaha Mummabear can't wait for you to test! Thank you all for assuring me faint line is all dandy! I just can't wait for some other kind of confirmation, bloods, scan etc. What's the earliest any of you have found out bubs sex?? My friend was under an ob last baby so had amazing care, she was told at 13 weeks bubs was a boy and he was!! I want to go to her ultrasound place haha. And a Mum at my work was exactly the same but she was told at 12 weeks they are having a girl!

I had to wait for the 20 week scan, but I had a gut feeling from day 1 that it was a girl. My mum even had a dream (before I knew I was pregnant) that I was pregnant with a girl - spoooooky! So sometimes mother's intuition can be pretty accurate!
If I could've found out earlier though, it would've been a no brainer for me. Heck yes!

Yeh it's a hard one a, because we found out at good ol 20 weeks with the other two & now we have a boy & girl. So im so undecided if I want to know this time or not, hubby doesn't want to know! Hmmmmm the decision is so hard! The truly grateful person in me would want it to be a surprise because I will just be grateful to have a healthy bub in my arms. . ...but the super ocd house interior design person in me couldn't handle not having everything done & sorted ready for bubs coz there ain't no way in hell ill have time or energy to do it once bubs arrives! My little girl said to me the other day (before I even knew I was pregnant) that a hat that was my sons, "we need to keep it a mumma, for the boy baby that's in your tummy"......spooky! Now she's the kid who you will say to that you've got something special planned & she will guess first time what it is you were thinking of doing, no word of a lie, she's a bit out of it like that!

See if I already had a boy and a girl, I would consider leaving it as a surprise. You already have the best of both worlds, but then I would still want to know because I'm just impatient like that lol. I can see how you would go both ways! You guys will figure it out though. Even if that means flipping a coin about it haha. Oh is it weird that I love kids like that? Lmao! I think it's so freaky cool.

Hmmmm we shall see, decisions decisions! Maybe I could just find out & do babies room in secret & lock the door haha! Yeh she is a very interesting child, I was brought up in a very alternative way so I wouldn't be surprised if she's got a bit of 'spooky' in her hehehe Another bizarre thing just happened, my work mate just txt me saying that the twin programme is on tonight, and that I "should watch it to get some tips for when I have twins", I replied saying that I would love that (she knows I would love twins), and she replied "well you can prepare for the future" hahaha no one even knows im preg yet!!! Im going to tell my work next week!

Hi everyone, sorry to join the conversation and then disappear for a bit. So much to catch up on! Loving the daily list, congrats to those with BFP since I was last here, how exciting!
I was hoping for some advice on smear tests while TTC. I have received a message from my GP that I am due for one, I'm guessing I shouldn't have it during a TWW? I won't get time to do it before this months TWW so am guessing would mean if I got a BFP this month I would not be able to do it until after the birth? Can't imagine it would be safe during preg...

Hi again Widget. Smear tests are absolutely fine when pregnant. I had one when about 5 weeks pregnant last time, and it just means things are a little bit more sensitive and your cervix is softer, so you're more likely to bleed a little. But I really didn't bleed very much at all. Didn't even need a liner for more than 10 mins. I'm not sure about the 2ww...I'm sure if it's fine during pregnancy, it should be fine during the 2ww. I guess if you're worried you could wait till either you get your BFP or after AF has been and gone.

We were allowed to start 'trying' 3-4 days after my operation Mami! If I wasn't in so much pain then it would of been perfect as I ovulated 4 days after! Alas, I will have to wait another cycle For your Dr appointment, they should make sure you have plenty of folic acid and iodine left or write you another prescription, or just get another at the time while you're there anyway! Sometimes they give you a bounty book, can anyone confirm if they still do that? Does it depend on your area? And a list of MW's in your area or OB's if you'd rather. Bloods which include your hCG level, you can ask for forms to get the bloods repeated if you want - to make sure hCG is rising as it should. And lastly ask for a form for a dating scan (if you want), it's best to go after 7 weeks... if you can hold out that long You can see what gender baby is from about 14 weeks, if it's a boy you can tell earlier (sometimes), but they can't 100% say girl until after week 16 I think? Because everything pretty much looks the same until then unless there is clearly a penis! The Harmony blood test (usually done at 10 weeks) which is for genetic abnormalities will also tell you the gender (more accurately then a scan). ZethansMum, how DO you find the TTC time?!!! Does it have to be after 11PM, or get you get in a early morning romp? Good luck for this cycle Lidudesez!! Hmmm stink about AF Indigo, but YAY for a good LP Widget, like ZethansMum said you can get smear tests done while pregnant. I had one done at 27 weeks (because I hemorrhaged and they wanted to make sure there was no infections or nasties - there wasn't). I am also due for one, 3 months ago, I should really get around to it!

Widget - personally j wouldn't go for a smear during pregnancy unless I absolutely had to...jist adding another risk in there that isn't needed ... Just my opinion!

I'm the same as indigo - far to scared to add any extra risk - I won't even have sex for the first 12 weeks so that probably shows how ott I am!

Haha, Nell - we sometimes manage to give it a go at 11pm, just depends how tired he is. And 6am just doesn't work for us. Both of our work schedules vary a lot, so occasionally we might be lucky enough to both be home for the day or at least the morning, so we can dtd late morning. It's so frustrating. He's actually told his boss that we're trying to conceive, and that he wants better hours. His bosses' reaction was that he will do whatever he can for us, because in his opinion he needs to make sure that his employees are getting some action! hahaha. So hopefully in time it will change...

The whole topic of smears during pregnancy is an interesting one, and I am feeling intrigued now too! So I just googled it. Very interesing actually. I haven't found anything to suggest there's any risk. In fact, it seems that there's actually more risk to NOT have a smear, because it can detect infections and other risks etc. that might be harmful for the baby if they aren't discovered. In the states, it actually appears like it's a routine procedure during pregnancy. So it looks like it's actually safer to have one, than not. Though, I completely understand why some would rather not have it done. Kinda just feels like there must be some sort of risk huh?! Even though I know it's safe, I feel like I might actually be hesitant next time. Especially after a loss...
