Sara! Yes my week has gotten better. Things are finally looking up for me. Not only have we started our Rainbow's journey, but we brought a new car today! And I got $1200 tax refund cheque in mail! Stoked! It's the best week we've had since before we list our angel. I might cancel my acupuncture next week, can't really keep affording to go just for wellbeing now that we've achieved our goal. Will go for my first lot of bloods tomorrow. Midwife wants to do weekly Hormone check (HCG) to make sure we staying on track. So happy I didn't have to ask and we are on the same page.
Sara that is kinda sweet I guess you could say taking some of George with you to where he was created. Nice and fitting I think.X

Hi Everyone! it feels like ages since I posted properly in here (bar the odd, one liner). So I thought I'd pop in and do a quick catch up. If you don't lurk in the other thread, I got a BFP about a week ago. I haven't gotten my forms from my specialist to do the early preg monitoring yet, so hopefully will start doing hCG etc from next week on. It's such a funny time for us... we want so badly to be excited, but there's a massive guard up at the moment. It's a game of russian roulette for us - who knows what combo of genes were in that egg?!?!? One step at a time, aye?
I hope you all are doing well where ever you are in your journeys! Soda, did you get your results back yet? Sara, I've been thinking about you lots lately. I really hope you are doing well. It must have been so hard to get your son's ashes - that's something a mother should never have to do :-( NzVeg, any signs of OV yet? Or is it too early?

Congrats on your BFPs a.girl & JK! Hope everything is going well, sending *sticky* vibes :)
OMG thanks so much for all sharing your bitter feelings - I was feeling like the world's biggest b*tch for feeling bitter. Couple weeks ago DP told me his friends were expecting and I was hysterical. Both halves are smokers, drink every weekend and most of the week too. Their place is basically the party house and I'm fairly certain they weren't trying. How is that fair? I've been working so hard to be a healthy baby receptacle and all I have to show for it is a stomach full of surgery scars. And then I feel so guilty for feeling like I deserve it more than them and I try really really hard to not feel like that and then I think maybe this is why things aren't happening for me - 'cause I'm such a b*tch :(
Wow Talz, you're on a roll, great stuff! Can you tell me more about acupuncture? A friend recommended it but I really don't understand how sticking needles in you can possibly effect your cycle?!
Frustrating about your DH Soda, I've so been there! I must admit the only good thing about not being allowed to TTC at the moment is not getting all stressed out about timing of "relations". My goal for when my body eventually remembers it's supposed to do something and we're allowed to TTC again is to try to just go with the flow and not stress about timing etc, but we'll see how well that goes...
Amusing story... I had random pain the other night - so bad it woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep, then continued (but duller) during the day. Later that night my phone spontaneously flew out my pocket into the flushing toilet! I stand there shocked just yelling OH F*CK at the toilet a bunch of times before eventually fishing it out. I walk out into the hall holding my sopping phone by the corner to a poor confused DP who, knowing the pain I'd been in that day, had been bracing himself for another trip to the hospital - poor thing! He was very relieved and amused to find out it was just my phone!

Grrrrrr Soda I'd be so annoyed too. I don't think they understand as we do. If you BD two days before OV you might be right. I didn't think we had done enough this cycle as we got most BDing in before +OPK then day of +ve and nothing after for 5 days. Thought we missed our window. But low and behold BFP!
Hi mitsi, accupuncture is traditional Chinese medicine. I'm no expert but my googling found it helps in all sorts of ways with balancing your 'chi'. I saw some research online showed in a study of women doing IVF, they were 30% (don't quote me!) more likely to conceive with acupuncture than the ladies that didn't have it. So not sure if it's all hocus pocus or not, but hey I got my BFP! Definitely relaxing. Some really rely on it for pain etc. I think it helps lower stress levels too which then allow you to have a better chance of conception. Now that I've got my BFP, I think I might cancel my apt for Tuesday as I can't really afford to keep going just coz. Had my first blood test yesterday, so my MW should have results by today at latest. Be interested to see what HCG is. She's going to get them done weekly she said so can monitor that side of things. So I'm happy she's quite proactive with me asking. As she knows I'll be more anxious this time round.
Hold tight soda and hopefully that BFP is there waiting at the end of the cycle x

Talz I do accupuncture too, and mine recommended continuing until around the 12 week mark to help establish and maintain the pregnancy... So maybe see what the recommend - maybe just go less often than weekly?

I found that Hutt Hospital actually have free acupuncture sessions for preggos! I've just started going again for postnatal, and it's been really good. So maybe have a look around as yeah, it's a bit $$ but worth it it if helps at all eh!

I hope for your sake it helps with the BFP FingersXd!! I did read somewhere about helping those with fertility issues. My acupuncturist couldn't stress enough about applying heat to my abdomen as much as possible. This cycle I used a little hot water bottle about 5 nights and hey, who knows? Maybe it did help get my BFP?! I actually have a fair bit on this Tuesday (like a pedicure! lol) so I might just get him to reschedule for the following week and go from there then. If it's going to help me get this baby through to the end without losing it, it's worth a chance!

Does anyone have a recommendation for an acupuncturist in Wellington? I'm thinking I may as well give it a go. Went to the doctor on Friday who just gave me some reassurance (was feeling like I'm going a little crazy!) and I've also ordered some OPK's so hopefully I'll be able to join the BFPs

I got my letter to make an appointment for my PCOS referral from before all this crap happened so I guess I can ask about it at that. I really hope once I make the appointment I get a proper letter that actually gives me information about the appointment because I really have no idea what to expect at the moment! When I got my initial letter months ago it included this massive form to fill in asking weird questions like do I have someone to take me home after the appointment - um, what, why would I need someone to take me home?! A significant amount of info that I gave on that form has obviously now changed, I wonder if I should attempt to contact them and ask if I should do another form? Considering my surgery etc all happened there you would think they would have all the info but who knows!
