Thanks Soda. I know she's holding back as I asked her how her scan went and she said she didn't want to say seeing as I'd only just lost the baby a couple of days prior. I just really hope I get pregnant and stay pregnant in the next few months so we can get back to normal. I've made an appointment for a warrant of fitness at fertility associates so I can do everything possible next time to maximise my chances of keeping it. Going to give in and try and improve my health a bit too. The only aspects I think I'm failing in is lack of exercise and poor diet. I'm going to start walking any day I'm not working and limit my sugar intake. Other than that there's not much I can change I don't think.
Soda, I haven't noticed a change in the amount of bleeding I have post miscarriage just have cycle length problems. Have you mentioned it to the docs?

My af went super light since the mcs started. A few hours of normal flow then really light/spotting for about 5 days. I've asked heaps of docs about it and they have no response what so ever!

Poppy I hope you and your friend can talk about this.. for me, it was hard hearing about peoples pregnancies, but the worst thing was when people tiptoed around me and kept things from me- to try and be kind i guess, but when my friend (who i knew was pregnant, all my friends knew so i heard through the grapevine, plus suspected when i saw her about a month after my MC) didnt announce her pregnancy to me until she was FIVE months along.... that upset me so much! far more than hearing other peoples happy news- even though her heart was inthe right place. i was SO pissed off! that was me though and you might be totally different. but if it bugs you that shes not telling you things because shes trying to be sensitive then you need to tell her not to, but of course if you find it helpful right now then all good! and good to know you can still get pregnant with a short AF... maybe the progesterone will help with that too? i dont know. im the same weight now as i was when i got preg with my angel, and was 5kg heavier when i got pregnant with DD.. so sure its not that. next time i talk to fert plus ill bring it up. but talking to the nurses i pretty much get shrugged shoulders (or ill get told to google it again lol i wont be impressed!) as for the bloods- i have asked them before and the nurse just said "oh with those specialist bloods only the doc sees them and youll get a copy in the mail. im still waiiiitiiiing!!! another thing ill bring up with them when i phone them friday for my day 9 bloods..

That sounds a bit slack of them soda. One reason I'm going private now is that I'm sick of no information. I want someone invested in trying to get me pregnant. The docs and midwives just seem to hang back and wait and see if you make it. This time round I had bloods and a less than positive ultrasound. I expected my midwife to get back to me if things weren't 100%. I didn't hear from her unless I made contact. Frustrating. If you're paying them money, they better damn well provide a good service. Do you live near the clinic? I would go in and refuse to leave until you see the results. Hehe.
I'm doing a bit better today. I think my bleeding's stopped so I've avoided a d&c. I can put it behind me now and focus on my plans for the future. Need to get a hideous assignment done today then I'll be back on top of my study (needless to say not a lot has been done the last couple of months with everything going on.) My plan is to have my life sorted by Easter so I can come back after the break refreshed and ready for my FA appointment. Onwards and upwards as they say.

Good on you poppy! I remember with my mc just that time from the bad news bub hadnt made it, to actually losing bub and the bleeding finally stopping was the most awful time- its like you are in limbo but because its all happening to your body you cant escape it or be distracted for even a second..its awful! But once that bleeding stops its like you of course still have your moments but can see a way forward again.hope your turn is really soon hun! Im on my 4th clomid pill today and man the side effects of this lot are bad!despite taking it at night I feel sooo queasy all the time, like verge of throwing up- exactly like morning sickness but its not- how cruel can ya get! Lol. Hopefully that means this lot will work really well..one can dream anyway!

I'm trying to avoid clomid because of the side effects and the risk of multiples. Metformin worked great for me with my first child but obviously not so well this time. The only difference between then and now is I'm slightly older and not as active during the day due to a change in careers. I've stopped all meds before any testing is done and I'll see what they tell me.
Fingers crossed for this round for you Soda.

Hi all, Just popping in to say hello - I haven't been around in ages. I'm now 27 weeks pregnant and all is going well so far! It's amazing and full on and I still don't always dare to believe that we might just be going to get our happy ending. This little boy is due mid June and is growing rapidly - my belly is huge! I wish you all the best and hope that you all get your little miracles too. As you old timers know - I credit keeping this pregnancy to my amazing natural fertility expert Loula George at Motherwell in Mt Eden - seriously look her up ladies!! Kia kaha. PB

How's everyone doing at the moment, anyone got some good news to share? I'm bored and looking for something to take my mind off the next couple of weeks. I'm so glad easter is coming up and we're going away. Not because I'm looking forward to going to the in-laws but because I'm NOT looking forward to it so I should be distracted for a while. Then when we come back it's only 2 sleeps till my specialist appointment. I'm really hoping I'm not disappointed as I have high hopes that progress will be made. I've never wanted AF to visit so much in my life but it will, hopefully, signal day 1 of my next (and god willing final!) attempt.
How are you Soda? Feeling better I hope? When do you start taking Clomid in your cycle? I have a sneaking suspicion I'm going to have to use it.

HI Pepi! awww yay a boy how exciting! love hearing how our graduates are going thanks for thinking of me Poppy- im much better- im almost embarrassed at how down i was last week- wasnt like me at all! but it really was awful, i havent felt like that in a long time and I hope i dont feel that way for a long time again! but yes things are looking up, ive had my day 9 oestradial bloods which have come back at 349 which is a good number to say things are starting to happen, and v good considering i dont usually ov until CD18 on clomid. so thats good news- and i got my ovarian reserve results back (I talked the nurse into giving them to me as the doc hadnt got in touch in over 6 weeks about them lol) and from what i gather the levels are really good! which is actually surprising but im really happy with the fact thats one thing we shouldnt have to worry about (unless im totally wrong and then thats another issue altogether!) but the doc will phone me next week to talk about them. so for now we just wait another 3 sleep until hubby gets home, then BD up a storm, then after my day 21 bloods i start pessaries and then we wait! so so nice to have a plan oh and i do my clomid days 2-6 and am on 50mg as well as metformin. hope that helps!

Exciting stuff Soda. I find getting to ovulation is always a relief as you can start doing something about getting pregnant instead of waiting around. And never apologise for how you feel. This is a very stressful process when it's not going right and you are entitled to feel whatever you feel whenever you feel it. I just blame the hormones.

Hi I thought I'd join this thread, sadly I'm pretty sure I've started having a miscarrage. I have no idea what happens now or how it is meant to go, but I am enjoying reading back. I don't feel so alone

Sorry for 20 questions but it helps with advice of what to do. What symptoms do you have? Had you contacted a gp or midwife about being pregnant yet?

Yes my midwife knows, have had two lots of blood tests don't have the 2nd lots results yet. Just told to wait and see and go to ER if it gets bad. Which is guess is right as there is nothing you can do. I knew it in my heart I never felt pregnant, I get bad morning sickness usually, so much so I had medication, this pregnancy nothing.

That's right, nothing they can do unfortunately. If you feel very unwell or bleed heavily (filling a pad every hour kind of thing) then you need to be seen. Otherwise you wait until you stop bleeding. At 6wks you can retain some of the embryo so it is best to get some bloods to check your hcg levels are going back to zero and often they recommend a scan after about a week to see there's nothing still there. Either talk to your midwife about this or see your gp. If stuff gets left behind you will have the option of a d&c to get it out. The concern is future fertility, they don't want an infection starting. Sorry to be graphic but that's what you need to look out for. Hopefully your body just gets on with things itself. It's a very hard time so look after yourself.

It's really frustrating when all you want to do is hurry up and get pregnant again but you have to wait around for things to settle down and your body to recover. I was desperate to have a baby by the end of the year but with delays getting pregnant then two m/c in a row my plans have been dashed and I'm now waiting around for my next cycle to try again.
