Congrats, Poppy. That HCG sounds great for 4 weeks!!! Will you do repeat HCGs? The way they rise is more indicative of things (but a nice high number like that is a great start!).

good luck for Thursday Poppy! I am much the same as you - it can't prevent anything, but I hate to think that things are ticking along smoothly when they aren't. Anyway, you needn't worry about that right now! You have only good news to focus on :-)

Hello everyone, nice to catch up with new posts again.... well, last time, Friday last week , i was so happy to be feeling so well after my d&c, but i spoke too soon! the next day, i was really run down, so went to bed early thinking maybe i wasnt resting enough, only to wake up with high fever the next day. When i rang the women"s assesment line they told me to come to hospital. I was still thinking i might just get antibiotics and go home, but no, after all sorts of tests everywhere, i was hooked on iv antibiotics for and stayed at hospital for 2 days. There was a bit of retained tissue after the d&c, but the doctor said that normally anything under 2 cm shouldnt cause any probs. According to the doctor, since i had no more bleeding or tummy cramps etc... but a bad bloodtest, it was indicating that the infection isnt caused by the retained product, but must have gotten into my bloodstream during the procedure of the d&c! I would have never expected that! Most importantly , i soooo happy to be back home only on oral antibiotics and finally feeling myself again ( touch wood this is the end of it). I cant wait to 'move on' and be ttc again. Hope your bloodtest well well today, Poppy! Sending positive vibes to all of you! Take care!

ooh poppy that sounds perfect! congrats xxx
Im starting to want to get back to TTC again! lol. that didnt take long! a bit torn as i didnt get the job I wanted (booo- came down to being between me and one other and they did ref checks and everything- but she must have just been a better fit for the job..) so bummed about that but was only really holding out because of that, and the house building too.. and hubbys got heaps of work happening from about oct-nov so chances to try then will be slim, and IVF might be around then too... we were going to hold out until the new year to start IVF but if it came up in say september then maybe itll be worth giving a go... aargh so torn... just been waiting soo long and want my turn to have my baby now! lol. patience is wearing thin... and next cycle is out because of hubbys work commitments so hel be away right on ov time... so annoying!

Yay congratulations Poppy!! I've been having a little rest from ttc and this forum, but I had a public miscarriage clinic appointment last week and have my Fertility Associates pregnancy loss one on Thursday, so my period of not thinking about pregnancy and loss is over. I decided I'd pop on here and see if you were pregnant Poppy, to give myself hope, and you are!! Those hcg look fab. Do you mind me asking what sort of treatment FA has you on?
My public specialist appointment was about 4 mins long and complete crap, so I hope the FA is better. The due date of my second miscarriage is looming and my cousin and a friend are due a few days either side of when I would have been. I'm really happy for them, but it's hard to watch.
I'm really sorry to see so many new members on here since I last posted. Big hugs to you all x

Welcome back Karenka. Things are still going ok for me. bloods last week were 5694 and i've had my last test today and am waiting for results. 7wk scan is on monday.
Good luck for your appointment tomorrow. I am currently on metformin (for pcos), progesterone pesseries till 12wks and aspirin. There's not much more they can do to try and prevent miscarriage so here's hoping it works.

Thanks Poppy. Glad things are going well for you - you're my inspiration at the moment!! I'm looking forward to tomorrow, but am feeling quite anxious about it too. The best bit is that I'm going to Hamilton by myself and dp is staying home to look after our 3 year old - imagine that, time by myself. I'll even get to listen to the music I want eeep! Looking at your ticker our kids must have birthdays quite close to each other - my son is 11th Feb.

ooh so quiet in here! yay poppy that is a brilliant result woohoo! Enjoy you music karenka! I totally know the bliss of being able to NOT listen to the wiggles (or now taylor swift lol) on repeat for an entire 3 hour round-trip! bliss! well I think im about 4dpo now. finally ovd on my own at about CD27 and wasnt charting or temping or anything, just felt very strong ov pains on saturday, stronger than usual, then took my temp yesterday and it was a good strong post ov temp so im thinking thats when it happened. got some good BDing in right before supposed Ov too without even knowing it so i guess theres always hope! im thinking thats a pretty late ov so not a huge chance of anything happening but we will see. am hoping AF doesnt come until at least 13dpo so i just might be able to do clomid next cycle.. but hubby is going away and gets back on what will probably be 2 days before ov...so its do-able, but if he gets delayed we will have wasted an entire clomid round.. so bit torn what to do. hopefully wont have to make that decision and there will be a miracle instead

Snap Soda I think I'm 3DPO. Here's hoping we both get the result we want at the end of this TWW! I'm feeling quite hopeful as we BD'd at the right time and I'm trying natural progesterone cream and low dose aspirin which I haven't tried before.
Question for you guys:
After my friend gave birth to her son she mentioned that her hair was falling out like crazy. Well I've noticed the same thing after my mc and wondering how common it is and how long it takes to stop!? Plus what other body changes have you noticed and how long has it taken you to get back to normal?
While pregnant my hair was pretty nice but way greasier than usual and my nails were really strong too which I expected. Since mc my nails got crap and then nice again, my hair has STAYED greasy and is also noticeably thinner and limp. My boobs have literally deflated and are now smaller than pre-pregnancy... I know this is all very cosmetic but just wondering what others' experiences have been
