I've been struggling in the last couple of weeks too. Urgh, I need to get over myself and back with the hard core exercise to ensure that tickers keeps pointing in the right direction. Congrats to NZVeggie, so thrilled to hear of your BFP. Wahoo! Just perfect news to find. I hope the rest of you are well and motivated. It has been quiet in here of late?

Thanks HT. I was meaning to send you a message via MFP. That's why I haven't been on there. I was away for a week and then got my BFP so have stopped paying too much attention to what I eat. Trying to stay fairly relaxed and mostly ignore the fact I'm pregnant at the moment. Although starting to feel a bit sick last 2 days so that might become increasingly difficult!
It's normal to struggle. You've been on this journey for such a long time now HT and you're doing soooo well! It's ok to have a few bad weeks in terms of minimal loss. As long as you stay stable you will start losing again when you get back on track!!!!

HT! How are you? Thought I might find you in here. Have been wondering how you are! Hope you're doing ok? Every time I get on my exercise bike (not as much as I should be) I think of you and all the determination and effort you've done on your Exercycle too. I brought mine inside a fortnight ago and brushed the dust off it! Anyway, just wanted to pop in say hi and see how you were. Xx

Hi Talz I'm good, a little fatigued today though. My DH has been away on a course and goes again tonight until next Saturday. The kids have been sick with colds and coughs so that has meant lots of interrupted nights. Mr 3 doesn't yet sleep through the night, he wakes up most nights between 3 and 4.30 for a party. Thrilled to hear you are on the Exercycle. Mine has been in the spare room since getting back from our road trip. Well past time to pull it out again. We see the specialist again in July and he mentioned last time it is time for a looksey. I have now convinced hubby it is time to be brave and put some IVF on the mortgage so hopefully by years end we will be getting really close. I will use all of that to up my motivation again and see if I can get to my goal weight before that happens. Phew! I've got approximately 3-6 days before testing this month. I'm not getting my hopes up, but wouldn't that be nice if we managed it all by ourselves and the trusty old clomid. I had an unmonitored cycle this month and didn't even do a 7dpo test so it is a mystery ;-). xox

HT - good to see you around again! Sorry about the lack of sleep and whatnot. Hope you can get your exercise mojo back! :)
Rebecca - sorry you got the seasonal bug going round, glad you're feeling better now though :)
AFM, haven't been exercising this week with everything going on (have had EC last week, but no embies made it for those not reading the 12+ mths thread). Weigh in was 74kgs, which wasn't bad considering. Really need to see a lower figure than that though! At least with kindy now, I should be able to start going to the gym once a week for group classes from next term - hopefully that will help!

Hi ladies, I'm still floating around :-) HT - Welcome back! So happy to see you back in here. You've been missed. Mushroom - So sorry to hear that the EC wasn't successful :-( Hugs xx AFM - This pregnancy so far has been so much worse than my pregnancy with DD. I feel constantly exhausted and nauseous so have basically been eating what ever my body feels like. I also came down with a horrible cold just over a week ago and it's taken till now to kick it. Still feeling blocked up, but a lot better than I was. This has kept me away from the gym which I feel so guilty about. Obviously the eating 'what ever the heck I feel like' and no exercising is taking its toll on the scales, so when I weighed in yesterday morning i was 65.7! This quickly prompted me to get back on MFP and track my eating. Out of curiosity I weighed myself again this morning and was back to 64.5. I'm so confused. I did weigh myself at the in-laws on Sunday before a shower in the evening and was 64.8 so maybe I'll just roll with that? Anyway, it was a slight wake up call for me to get back on MFP and remind myself that I really want to be fit and healthy throughout this pregnancy. The nausea has worn off quite a lot now so I can hopefully get back into good eating habits :-) Might even head to the gym in my lunch hour and hop on the bike for half and hour. Any exercise is better than nothing right?

Hi, I'm still about but avoiding this forum a bit due to going backwards. I weigh 70kg now. I am wondering if it's water though. I was really dehydrated constantly and drank maybe 3 glasses a day but for a month I've been using an app called "Water Your Body" and I track my drinking and aim to drink the required quota for my weight each day. I've successfully drunken 2.3L for the whole time. So I reckon my extra kg is water. I think I feel better, and my period is heavier this month so wondering if the water helped my lining form properly?! Anyways, planning on walking with DH to the train station in the mornings and back again soon. When its light enough. Also started avoiding white carbs at lunch this week. Substituting raw carrot sticks for the bread etc. We'll see what that does or doesn't do soon enough I guess.

*hugs* Apfel. Sounds like walking hubby to the train will be lovely for both of you :)
I've also put on weight with being down after failed cycle, and nothing to do fertility wise for a whole year until our public funding starts. So last time on the scales I was 75.1 kgs.

Hi everyone :)
Apfel that sounds really nice walking dh to the train each day :)
So I am just back from the doctors and have been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome which she said can be helped by losing weight.
Does anyone else in here suffer from it?
What helps the weight loss?
Thanks and hope everyone else is good

Hi Bex, I'm pcos with all the symptoms. Basically there is a huge link between pcos and insulin resistance. So it's good to think diabetic in terms of good diet. Paleo/primal eating is pretty good for pcos - basically eating fresh food, plenty of greens and proteins, and very low carb.
Has your doctor offered you metformin? It is an insulin sensitizing drug that can really help with keeping blood sugars under control, and thus loosing weight.

In terms of losing weight it's similar for everyone. Diet is 90% and exercise 10%. Having said that exercise helps with healthy eating so I think is hugely important. I find it changes my appetite as well as my desire for unhealthy food. PCOS is slightly different in that metformin can help with weight loss which in turn helps with fertility. They say losing 10% of your weight hugely increases your fertility. So start with small changes and go from there. Mushroom hit the nail on the head with insulin resistance being the main problem for weight loss. Some people think specific diets are better for weight loss if you have that but the jury is still out. I would go for anything that appeals to you and works for your lifestyle. Mostly it's about eating less food and choosing healthy food for what you do eat.
A lot of us on here use an app to track our calories. I find it's great as I don't always realise how many calories are in some foods. Seeing it written down puts it into perspective!! Myfitnesspal is my favourite app but there are heaps of options.

Hi guys seems ages since I started this thread! Have since welcomed young Emrick into our lives :) hope you don't mind me popping back - we will be starting to TTC the next one before the end of the year and will be our last so if we don't have success by end if 2015 DH will be getting snip :( so when we are ready to start TTC again I want to be super healthy and super ready!! If it takes as long as it did with our precious Emrick I may have to accept that our family is complete x

Who's still going with their goals? I am desperate to get on track to lose at least 5kg before getting UTD. In the 2ww now, but thinking I'm going to have to up my game after DH taking some pictures of me today and seeing how awful I look! He says I don't of course, but I want to love myself. Anyone else feeling this? Just want to love my body more! Tomorrow, I'm going for a LONG walk!
