Happy New Year everyone!

I'm back on the healthy eating/exercise bandwagon again after my Christmas holiday chocolate splurge :)
Managed to get an hour weeding done this morning, plus get to the gym to get around the circuit room. Weather was so lovely this afternoon also went down with hubby and DS for a swim at the beach, which has got to have burnt some calories too! Lots of gardening to do tomorrow with a load of mulch being delivered first thing, so hoping it all helps with the energy levels and the waist line!

How is everyone else doing?

Hi ladies,
Some of you may remember me from last year before I unexpectedly (but not unwantedly) got pregnant with #2. Well I was due on 21st January, but unfortunately on Boxing Day at 36+2 weeks pregnant our world changed. I had an 'Accidental Haemorrhage' and we lost our little boy and apparently I almost lost my life too. I was put under general anaesthetic and woke up a day later in ICU. The scariest and saddest time of my entire life. DH and I are slowly getting through it and I have quite a physical recovery ahead of me and obviously both DH and I have a huge emotional road ahead of is, but I am just so thankful that we went through the OB that we did and he was there to save my life (and my uterus).
So my focus now is to get better. I lost a lot of blood and had a heap of blood transfusions and my blood pressure is all over the place (which could have been a cause of the haemorrhage). So I am on loads of meds to help control it.
Anyway, I really want to get fit (once I am able to exercise again) and healthy to help my body recover and get prepared for another possible pregnancy (if we are lucky enough) so hoping I can re join you lovely ladies on here. I got down to my lowest weight since I was about 16 before I got UTD so want to aim to get there again before we start TTC # 3. My current weight is 71.0kgs and my goal for now is 64.9kgs. Can someone please add me? I just started on MFP again today. Feels good to have a bit of control over something.
xx

Oh Misssara - words can't express how sorry I am for you Cry
Will add you to the list, but go easy on yourself!

Has been quiet on here lately, was talking to myself for a while! I'm back at 72 kgs after slight Christmas gain - wanting to get well into the 60s before my IVF later this year, though weight loss has been at a pretty slow pace...

Hi ladies
So happy to see so many graduates from here.
I have had a shocker six months. I really struggled to bounce back from my fertility related op (had lots of things done at once). My energy levels sunk and I ate and did not exercise. To my shame my weight whistled back up. Thankfully I stopped the rot before I undid all the work completely.  I have now given myself a huge wind-up and have been back exercising and counting calories for near a week 1.5 kg down already). I have lots of work to do before I am back down to 95.3... lots of work! argh!

Bummer HT - it sucks when life throws you stuff that tries to undo what you've achieved. I know from personal experience how depressing it can be to have to lose weight you'd previously lost. However, you know that it CAN and WILL come off, as you've achieved it before! Do you want to post a new starting weight for 2015?

Has anyone tried OptiFast? I'm considering doing it (with my dieticians supervision) week-on, week-off to attempt to shift the weight faster - I've got 15 kgs to lose until I'm at my ideal weight, and 10kgs to lose until I'm at the right weight to maximise my IVF chances, and with healthy-eating + exercise am only losing around 1 kg/mth!

It's getting better thanks Mushroom :-) Saw our OB today and it's now stable and back to my norm YAY! But that means he has started weaning me off more of the meds I am on so fingers crossed it doesn't spike again. He's pretty confident it won't.
Can someone please update my weight. Weighed in at 69.3kgs this morning :-)
Thanks for your lovely thoughts ladies. We are just taking every day as it comes. Today would have been my due date so had a wee cry this morning. It's hard being stuck at home since hubby has gone back to work and DD is still at daycare full time until I can drive again. It's quite boring, but I know I should be resting. Trying not to eat because I am bored. Doing a lot better than I thought I would.

Sorry just lurking around still through the threads and remember you getting your BFP misssara. I'm so sorry to hear what you went through :( I had tears reading your post (might have something to do with my hormones too as I'm normally pretty tough) Anyway just wanted to say I'm sorry, but you sound like you're very focused and determined and I'm sure you'll reach all your goals and dreams x huge hugs and good luck.

Just updating my weight again - annoying I've yet to crack into the 60s, but stupid sinus infection had me out for over a week with headaches, plus got me into bad habits eating-wise again! Hopefully over the next week I can get back on track eating low-carb good food!!

How is everyone else doing?

Hey everyone my friend jesssroo and I are excited to be on this thread! It's so inspiring seeing Jess's comments way back at the start and reading some of yours! My biggest issue is convenient food like actual laziness haha. This week I have cut out v and switched to sugar free options which are gross so I'm aiming for that to put me off completely not too fussed about other fizzy just v I've gone from 4-5 a day to 1-2 sugar free which is huge for me breaking such a long cycle is hard but I'm committed I don't have a huge sweet tooth my savoury foods are what get me! Also have stopped Mayo addiction which is another huge step! Feeling seriously ill from doing this but it will be so worth it!! Keep up the good work !

Welcome back Jessaroo! And welcome Samanthapeek! Lovely to have more ladies joining us :)

At least there was something you can take as a positive from that yucky all-day sickness Jessaroo!

I've found that switching to 6 meals a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, plus morning/afternoon tea and supper!) has really helped with me loosing weight - I swear I'm eating more than before, but my metabolism has been given the kick it needed to actually start working again. Also, keeping full with good food helps me not lose it in the afternoon and grab the not-so-healthy options... Also having muesli or low-carb protein bars in my handbag so I have food with me when I go out has been great. And also getting in my 8 glasses of water! Well done on cutting out the other drinks Samantha - I'm sure you'll see a huge change from that alone!

As for my exciting weight news, this week I'm weighing in at 69.9 - so out of the 70's for the first time since I got pregnant with my son over 5 years ago!! Now downwards to a BMI out of the 'overweight' range!
