Grr not sure if its the relief from having the scan done or a consequence but I have just been hit with a runny nose, sore throat/ears and a headache. Hoepfully it will pass..

Ugh sucky kiwi.
And appreciate the crossing of everything lol. What will be will be I guess - at this point I feel a bit detached but when the crunch comes I'll be more enthusiastic (well you'd hope lol). When last time failed I was crushed like seriously heartbroken so I'd quite like to not take it so bad this next time. Haha yeah right there's a tui ad lol.

Potentially your immune system is low from everything else your body is doing at the moment. Sucky - hope it goes away soon. Be gentle with yourself.

Good luck Amk. Unfortunately once that little embie is in it's all up to nature. I hope you get the outcome you and your wife desire 😄

Ok just had scan.follies growing slower than they would like. So now have to have another blood test and scan on Monday. And see from there. A little freaked out. Not too much we can do but wait! So might have to go explore Christchurch! Shame it's so cold!

Hey Kiwigirl, Hope todays scan was ok? Its hard to be so helpless! Hope you found some fun stuff to do and see in Christchurch. AF arrived for me on Sunday, so just had my first injection tonight - remarkably easy and painfree - phew! First scan next Sunday in Hamilton.

Merrily, glad first injection went well. Keep us posted on you are feeling. Scan went ok some bigger ones lots small ones. Doc didn't say much except lets go ahead wed for egg collection hopefully some fertilise. Later on I got call from nurse appears my bloods show high estrogen levels and I was told to look up ohss. There is talk of having to freeze my eggs it all depends on how I respond to egg collection. Am drinking loads of water and keeping fingers and toes crossed! On the good side we stayed in peppers Clearwater resort last night due to an amazing grab one deal. It's amazing!! It was meant to be my luxury for ex day but things didn't go to plan. It really is beautiful!!! Back to cheaper hotel tomorrow but all good

kiwi - I had to do freeze all's both my cycles due to risk of OHSS. I was pretty gutted the first time but then after they'd collected the eggs I wasn't really wanting anyone poking around in there again for awhile lol. When they get a lot of eggs it can be quite painful (well in my experience any way) so its better for your body to recover before putting embryos back in. My specialist said that one day soon he expected they won't be doing any fresh transfers as there's now very little difference between fresh and frozen. Cool about the hotel.
Merrily hope the injections keep going well. From my experience I always found my morning one (that started around day 6) most sore - but I think it was because I got it straight from the fridge.
Good luck girls :)

Umm first cycle I had to wait one normal cycle. So when you have ec and don't do transfer AF comes about 5 days later - that's the first cycle then I had to do a whole other normal cycle after that. Gives your body time to heal. I think for the second one it was similar. First two transfers I did natural transfers so they just monitored my cycle then put in at corresponding day to age of embryo. Third time I had manufactured (drugs all round) as by that point I'd had a CP and MC and had had paid stupid money for my one embryo that I needed to best shot at getting it to work. And got another chemical. Manufactured cycles gives them more control over your body.

Merrily glad the injections are going well - the first is generally the hardest.
Kiwigirl, sorry things haven quite as expected. I'm glad they've told you in advance that you might be having a freeze all - we turned up to egg collection to be told by the embryologist that we'd be freezing them all, she spoke as if we should already know that but no one had even mentioned it to us so was a bit of a shock. And I ended up with mild OHSS so wouldn't have been good to do a transfer. I was the same - had to wait one full cycle before transferring - did a natural cycle the first 2 FETs - first one with progesterone from ovulation day, but the second one I didn't cos they said i was producing enough of my own progesterone. Natural cycle is nicer as less drugs etc, but you do have to have more blood tests so they can track when ovulation is.
yay for a nice luxury night!

Is anyone having IVF through Otago Fertility Associates at the moment and can give insight into what's going on? I have been waiting for an appt for three years, have just been given initial appointment for late June but wondering if they'll even take me on as I may well turn 40 before my first round of IVF. Seems unfair to me that we were first referred when I was 37, and if I lived elsewhere in the country things may have panned out differently. :/ feeling disillusioned and dejected! Need a ray of hope! (Funded one round of IVF privately unsuccessful) (Public Lap/Hystero cleared some endo) (Private Clom 6 cycles in the last two years)
