Topic: 15 months how many sleeps? Posted: 15 January 2010 at 9:44pm |
Hi we have almost hit the 15 month mark how many sleeps is your bubs having?
We do two during the day if at home but day care are doing one. Bubs goes to bed at 8.30pm and gets up just after 7am.
I'm not sure the one sleep is working that well but bubs isn't settling for the morning sleep at DC and when we get home we get a grizzly, moody child!
I asked that they do the 2 again but today (one day after trying) we are back at one.

I think we were still on 2 naps a day with Jack at that age, possibly not far off moving down to 1 nap a day.
I don't have any experience with DC but if you baby needs 2 naps then I would be pushing for them to do that.

Sophie started to drop down to one sleep at about 15 months, so we cut the morning one as it was messing up the after lunch one. She was having a nap at about 9am for about an hour and then back down at about 1pm. We moved the lunch sleep forward a wee bit until she adjusted.
Now she is up at about 7am then a sleep from 1pm til about 3.30ish and then bed by 7/7.15pm. With only 1 day sleep you may need to move bedtime a bit earlier than 8.30pm though.

With DD1 we were down to one (big) day sleep by then too. I'd agree with perhaps pulling her bedtime back a bit on the days with just one sleep.

Finley has been on 1 sleep for a couple of months, he gets up anywhere between 6 and 7 am, and naps somewhere round midday he is normally in bed and asleep by 6.30, stuffed.
But no way will he do two day sleeps, unless we are out and about all day and he snoozes in the car

Joel has been on one sleep for 4-5 months now, he goes down at about 11.30 and sleeps till about 1.30-2pm and is then in bed about 7pm, but it often takes him a good half hour of talking to himself and banging the side of the cot to go to sleep. He sleeps through till at least 7am.

HI there
I'm currently nannying a 16mnth old (my own bun is in the oven on slow cook) and we are starting to drop her morning sleep - to much to do in the morning!! he he She was having a half hour sleep (i woke her after half an hour) at about 9.30 - 10 and then big sleep in arvo from 1pm - 3ish. She is up at 7.30ish and to bed at 8ish. At them moment she still needs a morning nap every third or fourth day and has afternoon sleep at about 12.30, sometimes earlier!
It can be tricky for daycares because a)they have more than just your child to care for and often your child is going to sleep with other children in the room. there are deff tricks of the trade (i've done some time in a DC) but its quite a different enviroment to their own bed, in their own room and no distraction around!

Jake was on one nap at about 11/11.30 after an early lunch at that age - he went down to one somewhere between 12-14months (some days had one from just before 12 months, and definitely only 1 by 14months) ... he was in bed earlier at night though - by 7pm at the latest.
