I'd just wash them normally... A question...I used Johnsons with DD and was planning to do the same this time but I think I might give these Disp ones a go....but how do you wash them? I mean Handwash? if so what do you use? just normal washing powder??

I have been diagnosed with an over-supply of breastmilk and so for me breastpads are hugely important as I leak constantly and often spray like a showerhead when I get the let-down.

I have a set of washable breast pads (Tommee Tippee brand) which I use as a back-up but I swear by the Johnsons disposables (purple box). They mostly contain all the leakage for me and can last overnight if needed. I even had to use breastpads for a month after I stopped breastfeeding to contain everything!

I didnt like the Avent disposables as I found they didnt contour to my breasts as well as the Johnsons brand. Honey Child have just brought out contoured cloth breast pads.
They have a layer of the microfleece against your breast and PUL on the outside. They are really nice and trim too (yes I tried one on ) and you couldn't see it at all.

I would say cloth as well. I got mine when Josh was 4 months old and fed him for 3 months after that and I loved not having to pay for disposible ones.

I use the Avent washable ones from nappiesonline. Didn't discover washable breast pads until well into breastfeeding the first time so wasted heaps of money buying the J & J and Pigeon ones for about a year. I'm using mostly cloth with the odd sposie when I run out of clean cloth ones. I found pidgeon ones separated really quick. I didn't have leakage all the time but did find that when one side let down the other did too which meant my breastpad on that side needed to do the trick well.. Hi girls,

Any recommendations when it comes to breast pads? At the moment I'm wondering if there's a brand that's best for light third trimester leakage? I've heard that the Pigeon brand is best when you're breastfeeding - they seem good, but a little too bulky for now!
