Macs are safer, you don't get spyware or viruses infecting your computer. They can handle much harder, bulkier programs without crashing the system. You don't get a weekly visit from the "blue screen of death" or bugged constantly to pay for useless upgrades that should have been released with the supposedly finished program.

For photography I use Aperture and Photoshop, both perform together without my iMac trying to kill itself to run them both.

As already mentioned, Macs are simply much more stable then a pc, when you buy something for a mac, you know it's going to work out of the box, no messing around. The warranty that comes with your new mac is actually worth the paper it's written on so you know that if anything does go wrong they aren't going to beat around the bush about fixing it or not.

Mac's have always been considered to be the hardier of the two types of computers and have been used in film and photography since way back in the dark ages of computers. I really wasn't a mac fan though until I got my MacBook Pro and now even more so with my iMac.
