Topic: baby capsules Posted: 21 May 2007 at 10:43am |
I am trying to figure out which baby capsule is the best and a friend told me the evenflo with base are excellent.
Seems that they are rather hard to track down. Baby factory cant get them in and dont have bases.
Do you think its important to actually try the car seat in your car before you buy it? or would it be okay to go on someones recommendation and order one on internet.
Have found a new evenflo one called port about for $179. Anyone got one of these?

Hi Sunshine
We are looking at getting the same kind of capsule. Just thought I would let you know that they have them at Kiwi Baby for about $150. That's the cheapest we've seen them apart from Trademe but then you have to ba careful about the expiry dates especially if you want to use it for all your babies like we do.

Hey there,
We have a Baby Trend capsule with base. I brought it from the Baby Factory last year. My son is still in it and he is now 7 months old and is due to go into the next size car seat.

Hi it probably isn't necessary to try it in your car, depends what your car is like: spacious or cramped, shaped (seating) or flat.... We borrowed one off a friend for Briona, it was great to use because we were out a lot. It had an expiry date on it so good to check for that if you want to buy for future children... just make sure it lasts long enough to work out cost-effective.

You could maybe buy an ex hire one which is what we did they are usually only about a year old and have only been used for one or two families. We got ours for $99

Baby Factory do the ex-hire ones, not sure about PLunket as they usually have their hire ones in circulation for a longer period that the Baby Factory who (I think) only hire a capsule out twice before selling it.

I'd look at buying one for your first child because that way you keep for all your future children.

Hi
When I was at the Baby Factory last week, the lady said it is best to try the capsules in your car before you buy, because some of the new ones the seatbelt has to go around two different places, and in some older cars the seatbelts are not long enough.
