Ok so I have finally bought some MCN's that I can afford and I actually like them I had pea pod's just 2 given to me and they had put me off for ages they were so darn smelly so really hoping these don't get smelly, but so far they are fantastic except I had to put little miss in the smaller if the 2 sizes I bought one of each.   So my question is how many do I need? they come with 2 insert's. I am wanting to use them full time for Emily and my next one I am picking Emily will be in the next size up by the time the baby comes.

You will probably need around 12 or more for Emily if you want to wash every other day. Libbys not much older and goes through 4-5 nappies a day.

A good thing to do to stop them getting smelly is to do a final rinse them with either Canastain or Detol in the with the wash.

Hi Ladies,

I have a couple of these
I find they dry really fast (nice for the winter period!)

My tips:
Make sure you put the correct side of the inner against baby. The fleecey side. The other bit is microfibre and not to go against baby's skin.

As the inners are microfibre, you may get compression leaking. (Compression leaking is when you have say a wet towel and you stand on it, you notice the towel releases the moisture around your foot.)
I would recommend either that you change more often, or get another inner to put in, like some Bamboo or Hemp. These hold the moisture longer.

Because of the compression leaking, I only use these for day time, they are not sufficient for night time.

I love the cover! I find it really stretchy so I can get a good fit around my boy.

But for $14!!! They are a great start, and if you dont end up using them as nappies, you can always pop the cover over the sposie

Butterfly Mum: I would use the pea pods inner in conjuction with these. Layer it cover, pea pod inner, then one microfibre topper.

If the Pea Pod inner gets smelly, pop some white vinegar into the wash, it will neautralise the smell.

I did all that and they still smelt. I am confussed tho so what side should be against baby skin I think I been doing it wrong. altho I tend to use a liner's as well.

For the baby First inner, the side that should be against baby's skin is the side that does not have the tag sticking out. Rub your fingers on this side (The tag sticking out side), it feels a bit rough. The other side is nice and soft, and is the side to go "up" against baby's skin. I use liners too (Flushable ones), but I still put the soft side to baby.

Hmmm.. Maybe the Pea Pod inners need to be stripped then dried in the sun (which is hard in winter I know.) Stripping - here is some info from the Honeychild website, or you can look at TNN threads for more info. there might be one on here, I'll have a look and bump one if I find one.
