Yeah Flynn is fussy too - except when it comes to crackers or custards!!!! Kim - those recipes sound really yummy! I think I may try making them for Flynn - although he will probably only eat it if I let him eat with his fingers!!!

Glad Mikey liked it! - I am going to try this recipe for Zac this weekend.
Salmon, broccoli and pasta
100g tiny pasta shapes
200g broccoli, cut into small florets
200ml formula milk
20g plain flour
20g unsalted butter
Freshly ground black pepper
100g Cheddar cheese grated
200g cooked salmon cut into small chunks
Cool the sauce before adding the other ingredients and then freeze, so that the cooked fish is only reheated once
Bring a pan of water to the boil and cook the pasta following the packets instructions. Cook the broccoli over the boiling pasta water in a steamer until just tender. Drain and reserve.
Preheat the oven to 180.
Mix together the milk, flour and butter in a saucepan. Heat gently, stirring constantly with a whisk, until you have a smooth sauce.
Season with pepper, add half the cheese and stir until melted, then stir in the cooked pasta. Stir in the salmon and broccoli and pour into an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake for 25 minutes until golden.

Herby Tomato Pasta Sauce
1tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 small garlic clove, chopped
4 fresh plum tomatoes, chopped
200g tin chopped tomatoes
2 basil leaves
Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
2tbsp fresh herbs, e.g. thyme, sage, parsley, rosemary finely chopped
Tiny baby pasta to serve
Can be served with noodles, rice, mashed potato or try adding flaked tuna, shredded cooked chicken, mince
Heat the oil in a heavy-based saucepan and fry the onion until soft and pale golden. Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
Add the fresh and tinned tomatoes and basil, black pepper and herbs and simmer for 10 mins
Whiz with a hand-blender until smooth, then pass through a nylon sieve.

This one is for babies 10-12 months.
Fruity Moroccan Lamb Burgers
These burgers can be fried grilled or cooked in the oven. If you are grilling them, be careful not to let the edges burn. Giving babies any food that has very dark or crispy edges, such as chargrilled or barbecued food should be avoided.
1tbsp olive oil
3 spring onions finely chopped
pinch of ground coriander
500g lean minced lamb
50g dried dates, finely chopped
1tsp fresh coriander (optional)
If oven cooking, preheat the oven to 200.
Heat the oil in a heavy-based frying pan and fry the onions until just soft. Add the ground coriander and cook for a further 2 mins, stirring often.
Transfer the onions to a bowl, then add the lamb, dates and coriander and mix together well with your hands.
Mould the mixture into about 20 little burgers. Wrap in foil and freeze.

I am lucky to be in Saudi Arabia where I don't have to work and I have someone who does my housework and ironing so I have plenty of spare time!
Do you mean morning and afternoon tea or lunch as I've got some quick lunch recipes as well - the book I am using is called Baby Healthly Eating Planner by Amanda Grant. Not sure if you can get in NZ though.
Here's some morning and afternoon tea ideas - Cucumber sticks, apricots and cream cheese, steamed vege sticks, rice cakes, cut up fruit, yoghurt, bread sticks and hummus.

Yeah I was thinking of snacks AND lunch ideas! Its so great to get new ideas as I like being able to give Flynn a good range. Thanks for all your ideas and recipes!Did you used to live in NZ? I will look up that book. One little snack I make is marmite on white bread, with grated cheese sprinkled over it, then I cut into fingers before putting in the oven. I then bake at 130C for about 15-20 mins and put them in an air tight container. They are like a biscuit and Flynn loves them

Yeah for sure! I may go down to the local library and have a look, or even have a look at the bookstores in the mall. I see Michaels birthday is not long after Flynn's - same with Kim's boy Zac. Not long until we have to start planning first birthday parties/get togethers! Doesn't a year go SO FAST!!!

Yes, we use to live in Botany, Auckland - my DH has a contract in Saudi for 3 years and we've done nearly 1.5 years already. My Mum and step-children arrive tomorrow so we are sooooo looking forward to that. Mum and my step-son are staying for two weeks and my step-daughter is staying with us until the beginning of December when I will bring her back to NZ with Zac and I for our Xmas holidays.
Here's a few lunches that Zac likes...actually there hasn't been anything that I have given him that he doesn't like!!!!
Tortilla With Cream Cheese and Banana
(Makes 2 portions)
1 small ripe banana
1 soft flour tortilla
1tbsp full fat cream cheese
Mash the banana. Spread the flour tortilla with the cream cheese and the mashed banana. Roll the tortilla into a long sausage and then chop into small circles, approx 2 cm in diameter.
Fish Fingers with Carrot
2 small fish fingers
2 small carrots
Grill the fish fingers then cut into small pieces. Pell and chop the carrots, then put them into a pan with a little water and bring to the boil. Simmer until tender.
Avocado With Chopped Cooked Chicken
1 avocado (of which you will use 1/2)
1/2 smalled cooked chicken breast
2 fingers of fresh bread
Peel and halve the avocado. Mash the avocado and finely chop the cooked chicken breast, then mix the two together. Serve with bread.
Cheese and Onion Mash
1 medium potato or sweet potato
1tsp olive oil or unsaled butter
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped]
2tsp cheddar cheese, grated
Peel and chop potato and cook until just tender. Drain, then mas with approximately 2tbsp breast milk, formula or full-fat cows milk
Heat the olive oil or unsalted butter in a frying pan and saute the onion until it is really soft. Add the onion to the mash with the grated cheddar cheese and mix together.
