ok so this might be a stupid question
but
what should or shouldn't you do with girls that you do with boys
like nappy changing etc

Don't squirt baby powder into the girly bits - it can cause infections.

Clean really well! Poos are a lot harder to clean up with baby girls than boys as they have more crevasses

But at least girls generally don't pee as soon as the nappy comes off like boys do - I've only been pee'd on once by Ava

If using old fashioned cloth nappies, you need to pad underneath rather than at the front.

Can't think of anything else really. Probably something really simple I've missed out though.

At antenatal we were told boys it doesn't matter what way you wipe but girls must be from bottom to front.

Same thing as Emz re cloth nappies.

I think you mean front to back otherwise you would smear poo into the girly bits.

I think someone on here, or maybe i read it somewhere else, wrote "don't go digging around", kind of says it all really.

My MW said don't dig or scoop IYKWIM. However when all the number twos (maybe number 3s) smear upwards, I simply do a dab which seems to get any un-wanteds out. I also just use water and cloths. she'snever had rashes or infections, so I assume I am doing an ok job.

Lol I asked the same thing when I had Caprece. Basically clean everything you see and then I wipe down the middle once. Don't go digging around as vaginas are self-cleaning. Once you get the hang of it it is actually easier than boys.

I find girls pee without you noticing so you do them all up and then realise they have a wet back

Good luck on the impending arrival Trish

what is number threes?

I actually find girls easier to clean(having changed a million nappies as i am an ECE teacher) boys have like a wrinkled scrotum area and sometimes the poo gets attached to that..or the penis!!:)
Mum to two amazing boys!

Haha Isabella has peed all over herself a few times while having her nappy changed. She's pooed a few times too. She's peed/pooed on the couch and on our bed. In the bath too. LOL.
