Burial or cremation?

What's your choice? I'm for burial

he he.. me - i'm for burial, mike's all for cremation

in my opinion i guess that would mean different resting places for us which, provided we are old and wrinkly together.. just wouldn't seem right.

Cremated, please. And scattered in the same place with my dad's ashes.

DH says he doesn't care cause he'll be dead. So he's quite keen to go through the engine of an airplane

Yeah whatever when I suggested scattering his bones without bothering cremation he thought that sounded gross - but not the jet engine

I don't care think Dh would bury me though as he has put in our will he wants to be buried (and what cemetery)

I was thinking about this today, as Charlotte was patting Dad's "box" with his ashes in - a nice wooden urn thing, and I was thinking, wow, its hard to believe that man, that tiny little, full of life and opinion and whatever man is ground up in this box. MAde me feel sad. Still, I get to see "him" and visit "him" whenever I'm at mums, so its not like I have nowhere to visit. There was a huge row cos one of my brothers wanted some of Dads asjes, and my other brother and I were like NO WAY! I don't even like the thought of scattering, I like the idea of going to the afterlife as a "whole" (minus any organs I can donate) I think you need to be buried or ashes kept together whole. Just my opinion, though. Mum is going to get buried with Dads ashes (or cremated with them?). I like the idea of cremation, eco friendly and all that, but I'm not really sure what I will do. Depends on what is allowed when I go, and what Rod does.

Just read my post and it sounded odd. They weren't cremated together, they died about 6 months apart but both their ashes were put in the same plot.

See that's an interesting one Becks.. I mean, I wouldn't mind donating lungs, liver, kidneys.. but would want to keep my heart which in my opinion bears all the sgnificance of all those you have loved in your life and ties in with the soul in some way i guess.   I don't know if you can specify though that you would donate x and x but not the heart..

we hvae to have a dicsussion about this as Lewis is Maori and I think his family have some ideas about what they want to happen - not what he wants! anyway, i watched this documentary about Cuba where they just don't have enough room to bury people, so they bury them for three years and then you have to go and pick up the remains - which are bones. in the documentary it was so gross cause some people hadn't quite decomposed and still had skin attached and stuff. really creepy. Bit of a downer to the film festival but I guess good as ten years later the only one I remember....Oh yeah, so cremation.

eeewww gross, hence why I want to be burnt, that way in thousands of years my bones can't be dug up be people. I also want to be kept in one place. My friends dad was burnt and then his crazy partner spread his ashes in 5 different places.
