Clomd Pill Poppers

Hi everyone, I'm Nelle. I've only just discovered this thread. I have a 2 year old daughter, who was conceived on a clomiphene assisted cycle. We're currently TTC our second. This time it's taking longer than it did with DD. It took 3 cycles of clomiphene for me to ovulate this time (I have PCOS) and I did get pregnant, but sadly miscarried at 8weeks.

I go back to FA next week to meet with my endocrinologist. If she'll let me, I'll probably try another cycle. I was on 150mg on the cycle that I conceived, and I vaguely remember reading somewhere that that's the maximum that's recommended. Does anyone know if this is true?

SillyBilly - Completely understand how you feel, could have written that post my self. In the 2ww after our 4th round of IUI. We are unexplained infertility with no known issues and have been trying for 26 mths now

Epic – how is your first cycle of clomid going? We conceived this little mite on 100mg so hopefully it works miracles for you too.

SillyBilly – this wee one was conceived on our fourth cycle of clomid (our last before having a review with FAW) – I hope this TWW is going quickly for you. I don’t know for sure, but I would think that unsuccessful fertility treatments would increase your funding score but I think time, age and known fertility concerns are the biggest factors.

Chan – Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I’m sure I’ve heard of people going higher than 150mg of clomid (200mg comes to mind) – but the higher the dose the higher the risk factors so I guess they might not be willing to go there.

Brownie – I really hope you caught OV with some great swimmers and you won’t have a need for all the further testing, but I know how you feel about having a plan – it’s nice to have a goal rather than feeling like you are aimlessly (sp?) waiting around for the things to happen.

MrsImpatient – hope this TWW is going quickly for you – good luck for testing!

I did a brief update in the TWW thread but I’ll do one here too but things are all ticking along well. Most of the time I forget I’m pregnant which is so odd when we fought so hard to get here – I guess it all feels a little surreal still. Anatomy scan in three weeks and am leaning towards finding out, but still need to properly discuss with DH!

Hi there everyone - Asked this on the 2WW thread but was pointed to this one as well. I have question regarding ovulation kits. For those who use them, is there a preferred brand? And is anyone using them in conjunction with fertility treatment? I'm on clomiphene and in the pack given by FA, they suggest not using ovulation kits in case of false positives. I was wondering if anyone's had false positives using the kits.

Also, how do the kits work? Do I have to test everyday of the cycle? Or is it just around expected ovulation days? And is the chemist the best place to buy them or can I buy them online?

I'm on a monitored cycle with FA so will be having a scan to predict ovulation days, but was thinking of using a kit as well, as in the past my days have been out by about a week.

I haven't used the combination before sorry Chan, have actually only had one cycle on Clomiphene so far, but I do know to do them around ovulation days and not with FMU. I think buying them online is cheaper too, I got mine off trademe but a lot of the ladies have used Baby4u and it's been good. Hope that helps a wee bit. Glad to see you're back on the wagon. Are you still waiting for your first AF after the D&C? That's where I'm at as well but it looks like I might have ovulated so hopefully not too far away then into 100mg clomid.

Yes, am waiting for AF after D&C. Was told that if it doesn't come in 4 weeks, then I can use Provera to induce AF and then start clomiphene.

We have family coming to stay with us in a month's time so I hope AF hurries up, otherwise we'll have to skip this month.

I feel like this might be a boy - would be happy either way of course, but have a slight inclination towards a girl so that DD can have a sister (I always wanted a sister growing up).

No testing for me, DH was away so we missed the window entirely. Think that's probably for the best though being the first cycle post-D&C. Clomid 100mg starts probably mid next week sometime though, yay! My ultimate dream for that would be a 28 day cycle lol

Hi ladies, I have been MIA for a while, after 2 years of trying we are finally expecting number 2! Im 11 weeks, ours was unexplained infertility and as i just posted in the "Unexplained infertility" thread we had tried Clomid and IUI for a year, I had an HSG which was all good and was looking to IVF but tried a Lipoidol Flush as our last resort, if you are interested in hearing what it is check out the other thread. I just wanted to give some hope to others who are still trying as i know its so frustrating. The procedure is perfomed that same way and HSG is done. I am SOOOO happy we went ahead with it as i really wanted to avoid IVF, not only the cost but also seeing friends go thru it i know it does take its toll.
