Last similarly-themed party I went to I went as Little Red Riding Hood, easy costume- dark clothing under a red blanket safety-pinned to make a hood. Or there's any one of the evil Step-mothers from a fairy-tale. Or go Shakespearean as Lady Macbeth. Pocahontas. Or if you feel like cross-dressing there's always Prince Charming, G.I.Joe, Count Dracula.

I like the literal interpretation of going as someone you genuinely admire. So the Dalai Lama, or Gandhi, or the suffragettes who got us the vote, or whoever it is for you. Musician, artist etc. could go as van gogh and carry a fake ear around hehe

or osama bin laden as a villan.
