yeah I got that email too. Was thinking the $1000 would be quite nice lol I think Elise is cute, but am sure there are a lot of cuter kids in NZ & the chances of her winning are pretty slim when you think of all the kids that will be entered
Kakapo, you need to get a Wii lol my parents have one & man can you work up a sweat without realising!

Using the portacot for a while is a great idea emz (I hadn't even thought of that ). We don't want to rush Liam into a bed either so think he will stay put in his cot for now. We will use the basinette again so that'll give us a bit more time.
I love swimming too & want to start again once I feel a bit more up to it. The pools have a creche so I can go during the day & take Liam with me.
I got the PP email too but deleted it without reading it (they seem to send so many). Don't think we'll be entering Liam - even though I think he's pretty cute
I LOVE the name Ava emz. I remember you mentioning it ages ago so it's great you're going to be able to use it. We haven't had much discussion about names because we don't seem to be able to agree on anything much . Just like the pram discussion, it's all too hard right now
Emz, what have you decided about a pram?
Hope you had a good sleep Anna. Sounds like you definitely need it.
And how are you Peanut?

Hey ladies,
Have been feeling so average in the last few days . Am thinking I let myself get too tired and hungry.
Haven't seen the PP model email but don't think I could be bothered as think there would be a few "stage mums" about with that one.
Sally, in terms of the bed thing, we are putting Mac in a big bed before the new baby arrives. We have school holidays in July so we are getting his room sorted in the first couple of days and then starting his day sleeps in there, moving on to his night sleeps a couple of weeks later. I think then I have about 10-12 weeks to get him sorted before the next bubba arrives.
Emz, gorgeous name! Sad about the clothes too, I would be gutted selling some of Mac's stuff.
Kakapo, I started walking and found that really good but think my biggest tip is a food diary as its amazing how much food youa ctually eat without knowing
On the pram discussion - I have the P&T Sport with doubles kit that I am thinking of selling and buying the P&T Dash DH was none too impressed with that idea but SIL thought it was a great idea so will see how much I will get on TM.
Hehe, had to tell this story - we were talking names last night and I said that I loved the name Sebastian for a boy as its long like Macauley but is shortened nicely e.g Seb so Seb & Mac or Macauley & Sebastian....DH lost the plot and accused me of being controversial as his Mum and Gran call naughty kids "little Sebastians". I did comment that they would just have to get use to it. DH replied that I should never name children I walked off giggling....and still really like the name

What is the difference between the Sport & Dash Peanut? I don't know anything about P & T's (& I know you do ).
So it sounds like names will be a bit of a contraversial topic in your house for a while! Seb could be a dog's name so you've met that criteria at least . I think I'll avoid that conversation for a while longer. Sorry to hear you've been feeling average. I really shouldn't let myself get hungry either (but I do) & then it's a real struggle to eat anything. Sucky.

Ooooh Peanut that's a little too close to our boys name! If we have a boy it will be Bastian. I've come to the conclusion that all the names I like seem to have "s" in them so fingers crossed none of my kids have lisps lol we still haven't agreed on a girls name ... nearly 3mths left to decide!
We bought a toddler bed for Elise last week but in no hurry to get her in it. Bubba will be in our room to start with anyway, & then go into the cot when it's a few mths old, so will make adjustments to sleeping situations when I can be bothered lol

I am a P&T junkie! The Dash is the newer version of the Sport really so all the "design flaws" of the Sport are fixed . I like that the brake is on the handle so easier to use, the Sport is a foot brake that nearly brakes your foot (so I have used it maybe twice ). I also like that instead of the clips at the back to recline the seat, they have swapped to the MB pully cords so less jarring and chance of the child waiting. Where the childs feet are is now plastic instead of fabric..........and really I want a brand new buggy again
Ripcurl, cute name We have the girls name sorted (just using the same one as last time!) but will struggle with a boys name again...poor Mac was unnamed for a wee while and I am determined to have a name this time...although DH apparently likes the way we did it last time

Ahh I see Peanut . So any excuse for a new pram then . You should get a bit for the one you seel as they seem to be pretty popular prams. Our pram can't be converted for 2 so goodness only knows what we'll be doing. We had enough trouble last time actually deciding on a pram. So I am in no hurry to go down that road again... Maybe when I get some energy back.
You girls are all so organised with things, names etc. I am totally not this time round . Poor poor bubba
Boss took us out for lunch today which was nice. I was ever so naughty (lol) & ate some aioli, couldn't resist

I am wanting about $550 for my buggy and then will cost about $300 to get the new one so not too bad really. I do love my P&T as at leaset if you only have one child out or can take off the doubles. Mac still loves his buggy, I never let him walk in malls etc so he still quite happily sits in it so will be encouraging that fore to as long as possible.
Hmmm, lunch out...aioli is probably fine anyway as most places use brought stuff or brought mayo which is all pasteruised so perfectly safe to eat Does that take away the guilt?
Sally, am not really organised...just don't want to leave the name thing to the last minute again as felt pretty bad having an unnamed child And as we know DH has some rather dumb conditions on names and never agrees with anything I say

How dare he?! Does he not know you're the boss?
Sally - we're not organised either. It was pretty easy if it was a girl, if it was a boy the only one we'd agreed on was... Liam! Believe it or not!
Peanut - let me know when you are going to sell your pram. Ours doesn't convert for 2 either so have to buy another one but am buying second hand. Would you want $550 including the doubles kit and covers etc or are you keeping those? Anyway, let me know as I would consider it as long as we hadn't bought already (just been looking at the basic versions as I really want to spend less so we can get a giant tree chopped down! Talk about priorities! )
I think if DH wasn't going away and Jack was a couple months older (or Ava was a couple months younger lol) we would transition Jack to a bed, but I can't be bothered doing it myself. We'll just play it by ear I think.
I saw the PP email but don't really get into that sort of thing. My mum was a child model and so was DH but for some reason I think it's a bit weird (just my opinion though!). I worry that it'll turn into one of those crazy beauty pageant type things and I know that Jack would also hate it.
I'm still having a wee chuckle about the Seb scenario Peanut. Surely this just gives you more incentive to name the next one Seb if it's a boy, seeing as you have such a great relationship with your MIL

The tux arrived today thanks Emz - it's so flash!! Jimmy will look more stylie than DH me thinks . Didn't get a chance to try it on him tonight as first he was too grubby and hungry and then too tired after his bath. So may wait til the weekend.
Ava is a lovely name . Bastion and Seb too - I toyed with "Zeb" for a while, but DH didn't approve. Neither of us have any strong opinions on names for number two as of yet. I kind of like the idea of waiting to see bubs face to face before naming them, but dealing with a new born is so exhausting ...my brain turns to mush and thinking up names could well prove impossible for several weeks .
A Wii sounds like fun Kirstyn - perhaps Jimmy could play too lol. Not that he needs to do any more exercise ... he's constantly on the go. At dinner time he kept making this noise like he was trying to clear his throat, only he kept going bright red with the effort. When I did it back he giggled with hilarity, thought it was soo funny. I love it how the smallest thing cracks him up - makes me laugh so much . Don't you guys reckon our kidlets are at the cutest age right now?

oh is that what the PP email was about? I deleted it too because they seem to send 2 per week and I just don't bother reading them anymore.
I don't think we'd do it - I agree about the stage mummies plus Rowan's just started on this weird shy stage (usually she plays up for a crowd). But $1000 would be great for her savings. I always assumed they just paid out in PP vouchers.
Peanut that's classic about your DH getting his knickers in a knot. We haven't got a clue for boys names. There are a few I like and then don't like and by the time I don't like them they've grown on DH.
One we had was Leo if this baby was a boy because that comet was in the Leo Constellation right at the time of conception. But now it seems a bit hippyish - not the name but the reason.
Our buggy converts thankfully so we just need to spend $100 on a toddler seat. But I would like to get a tandem stroller as well for the shops.
Anyway no shopping until I know if this baby is sticky which hopefully will be tomorrow when we have a scan.

Good luck for your scan Bobbie
Yeah Kakapo they are at the age where they pick up so many things! Elise has learnt 'bubble' (as in bubble bath) & I also taught her "ewww stinky" & wave my hand in front of my nose ... she screws up her face, says "inky" & shakes her hand lol I also wriggle my toes & she sits their cracking up lol oh how simple the world is

Good luck for your scan today Bobbie, make sure you come in & let us know how it goes . The email was about entering your kids in a cute baby competition - or something along those lines. I barely read it because I don't think it's something we'd ever do. Wouldn't say no to $1000 though
I bought a merino wrap for this baby yesterday but that's it so far. One day I will pull out all Liam's clothes & have a sort through them. I don't think we'll need to buy too much stuff really (stink!).
I tried to talk to DH about names last night. He really wants Rachel for a girl. It's "funny" (or not
) as I used to love this name but have kind of gone off it a bit. I just keep thinking of "Rach" in a terrible kiwi accent... I then suggested Ben which DH has previously told me he likes but now he doesn't . I also like Daniel & Joel...

Classic - Mac loves the wriggly toe thing too!
Bobbie, it is only $1000 in PP vouchers as went to investigate on their website. I love the name Leo! It was on my list last time but kinda think we need a long name that can be shortened to a very short name otherwise they don't match
Emz, it has made me more determined esp after my run in with the MIL last night. She honestly does my head in! Will let you know on the buggy thing - DH is doesn't see why we need a new one so am still convincing him - it will include the lot though as will need the new doubles kit for the dash. I barely use the sun or rain cover so won't bother buying them next time!
Kakapo, when are you away to Melbourne?

Good Luck with the scan, Bobbie! Sorry I missed it before. I was trying to remember everything and have learnt I now have to write it all down.
Sally, I hadn't thought of Leonardo but not too bad. Am kinda fixated on Seb at the mo I like Daniel and Joel. Can't say I am a fan of Rachel but only cos I know a weird one ..
MIL Story : Very long so be warned. My dad often picks Mac up from DC on a Friday afternoon and hangs out with him. MIL got grumpy about this and asked to look after him on a Friday afternoon also. i said no worries - every week she would say she was and then just not ring to arrange or ring and cancel. Last night by 8.30pm I had still not heard from her so DH told me to ring which I refused to do as "She is not babysitting him or doing us a favour, it is suppose to be a treat for her so she should ring us". DH then invented a phone call to his Dad so eneded up talking to MIL who is now picking him up but I was very brief and rude as am sooo over it. I suggested she take him to the gardens as there is the park, museum etc, she says "I am bringing him out here as don't see a need to parade him round town" Nice digg, love! All sounds petty but just ongoing issues really. She is just completely uninterested in him. They live about 20 mins away and she comes into town to work twice a week and never stops to see him but always makes comments about "how he doesn't know them" etc as if its our fault. We have a family dinner out there once a month and we try to visit once more in the month but its always us going out there.

Oh good lord peanut, what a nightmare. She sounds a bit juvenile . Couldn't she see Mac another day if your Dad already picks him up sometimes on a Friday? I would be annoyed that she was butting in on your Dad's plans. And "parade him round town" what does that mean exactly? The gardens is hardly town. So does it mean either you or DH has to drive out & pick Mac up when she's decided she's finished?
DH suggested last night that we go & stay with his Mum at Easter. I was wondering when he would say something about going up. It'll be fine but it's not like she really helps us with Liam or anything (& let's face it a sleep-in would be nice about now). I think she feels a bit funny & doesn't want to butt in or anything. She is just SO different to my Mum... Anyway, enough of that. I don't really have too much to complain about luckily.
Off to track down some lunch.

It is always hard when you compare them to your own mum, aye? I think that is the biggest problem - Our own Mums are so super awesome that no one else compares

Peanut, sounds tricky! Thank god my MIL lives 4 hours away (But still talks to me for about 1 1/2 hours every week about the same old stuff!). WTF about parading Mac around? Seriously? That's a bit off
Anna - glad you like the tux. I even ironed it before I sent it so it looked all nice again Can't wait to see Jimmy in it.
Sally - I know what you mean about getting a sleep in. I would love a night and morning off with no kid around atm. I'm actually waiting for my mum to call as I'll tell her about our plans to go out for breakfast tomorrow so she might suggest she picks the monkey up Might be a welcome distraction as their friend just died (was expected) but anyway, we shall see lol.
Haha was just talking to my MIL who was already hit the shops (OK so the SHOP - there's not many clothes shops in Westport) buying girls clothes. I told her to keep on going at that 3-6months onwards would be great I hope she hits the mall when she's over at Easter too, I think I'll give her a few wee suggestions (did hint about needing some more money for a pram but she didn't seem to get it )
