Ha Eco I'm getting 2nd time stage fright hun! You'll birth beautifully I'm happy to be last too...I won't be but still!....it's just this ongoing pre labour stuff with no baby thats hard. I know how time consuming and hard newborns are, so I'm under no illusion it's gonna be easier once she's out.

Also having a baby in the house after a houselot of teen and almost teens. Oh and the no sleep and OMG everything the whole lot has me questioning my sanity

aww LittleN that is so exciting youll meet your baby this weekend! cant wait to see pics and hear all about it try to rest up and enjoy not having a wee one to run around after these last few days!
Emme things sound exciting for you too! i would flick your MW a txt tho and just let her know where you are at, so at least if you DO need to phone her in the middle of the night shes aware of whats going on at the mo ay..especially if you think your waters are trickling.. better to be on the safe side ay.. but yay must be exciting knowing your baby could come soon!
had my 2nd baby shower tonight- was lovely and i got heaps of prezzies my workmates are so sweet as ready as i am to finish work now ill miss them lots.. my mate did such a great job organising it all! im so lucky i noticed a few pretty strong period-crampy feelings all of a sudden during the evening too- maybe 3 or 4 in the hour? not regular or anything but noticeable- which is quite exciting that things- although im sure wont happen for weeks yet, at least might not go 2 weeks+ overdue lol of all things THAT is the one thing that freaks me out- the labour etc im ok with at the mo, but the idea of sitting through christmas and new years twiddling my thumbs it would just suck! tho if that happens and everything is good i am happy to let baby go when its ready..catch 22 tho ay!
well since this morning when i was saying about my sinuses..that is nothing compared to now- i might as well just not have a nose! and yup got the blocked ears now too..sigh..i havent a clue how ill sleep tonight.. i guess just a hot lemsip, hot shower and lots of vicks and sleep propped up on lots of pillows? if its still this bad by wednesday ill have to see what my MW can give me- i feel really claustrophobic not being able to breathe properly out my nose..
well i better go relax now..might go have that hot shower and see if it helps
will pop on in the morning to lurk for news! hehe

Soda - depends on how you feel about "drugs" in pregnancy. You can (medically) use Otrivin during pregnancy but many pharmacies will not sell it to you if they suspect you are pregnant (prob a bit hard to hide at this stage, lol).
I have used it when completely desperate and one spray in one nostril only (it's usually enough to get me through the night). I think I used if for maybe three nights.. I used it after quite a long discussion with a close family friend who is a pharmacist with quite a few years experience and also is a father. I trusted what he explained about the drug (mostly that it's unethical to test etc etc and the level of risk being very low etc ) - BUT it's a choice only you can make. HUGS cause I know how much the non-breathing thing sucks.

Now that its really happening Im starting to realise that these are our last few days just me and DH and that we'll never be just us again. It's so freaky.... I love that we will be a little family and I have wanted this for soooo long but Im terrified too! Now it's all happening Im like, wait, am I ready? lol you can't go back! But I don't think I'll ever feel ready so just gota get on with it.
I feel the pressure if I am the first, I will only tell you my birth story if it's pleasant as I don't wana freak anyone out before theirs lol

so glad other people are feeling nervous, and that its not just first timers - its such a important job and I just want to be good at it!
Im happy to hear even your freaky birth story LittleN, I would imagine it would be good to share it too. My best friend had the most horrific birth of her first and found it better after she had been able to talk about it. Not that you will have a bad one of course! sounds like you have good specialists and a on-to-it DH.
It will be exciting to have the first little family in my generation on my dads side of the tree (my mums side has twins all the way through so they appear a little less impressed by a single birth lol) but on dads side none of my aunties had kids so they are all excited to have a little one around for xmas and my sister is a long way off......so the ball is in my court (or should I say the bowling ball is in my pelvis)
Soda - how lovely to be spoilt by your workmates! Dont worry they wont let you go 2+ weeks late - its really not good to be too late as the palcenta only has a limited shelf life. I think it would be perfect for you to arrive on your due date - its such a awesome date! (I still wish I had it - we started on the 24th.....then 20th.....then 18th......now it looks like the 14th.....hope it doesnt get much closer!)

Morning All
The sun isn't shining today so I am super happy - means the temperature may stay a little lower! YUSSSSSS!
We're off to Mainly Music this morning so ds will be very happy to have another big run around while mummy sits down on her butt Have to pop into the supermarket too as I am desperate for cold/raw things to eat at tea time. I worked out last night that the reason I'm hating making tea at the moment as I'm getting too hot doing it and then I really really don't want to eat a hot meal when I'm finished. So salad it shall be (for the next 3 weeks at least) and DH can just chuck some meat at the BBQ.
Well must dash, we are running late, ooops. Hope everyone has a fab day

Littlen you only have to write what is comfy for you to tell the rest of us luckily I don't get scared by birth stories at all but can see how it may scare some of the 1st timers. It's all part of lifes rich tapestry
All I have to say is there is a really good reason I fighting against induction lol and try to go naturally
Emme they try the gel stuff first, the drip is to hurry things up if you are in labour, well I thought anyway thats how it was described to me when I was induced. I was lucky though only needed the gel once a mate had 3 days of trying with the gel before labour kicked in
MMMM I either have a yoga instuctor or a soccer player, what ever it is I am not liking it at all. 2am this morning this wee one started and not stopped yet. Oh and add in braxton hicks!!!!! OMG at this stage 12 years ago I had my girl!!! This girl better stay put and not want another scbu baby.
How is everyone?? For those of you still at work are you superwoman or what (she says as she only just managed to crawl to the couch)
I am having a day on the couch with the lappy so keep me entertained guys

I didn't choose to have an induction that was always on the cards, was medically advised to me for 38 weeks because my issues are getting worse, I only asked them to make a specific date for me because I was scared about my health deteriorating as well as depression developing. It was ultimately up to them. Ive researched what is involved and talked to the specialist and I know there will be risks, but we have decided this is best as a family/team with my specialist.
I don't expect my birth to be freaky necessarily was just saying if it is, Ill wait till after first timers have had theirs to tell about it thats all. I go in there with no expectations and whatever story I come out with doesn't matter cos I get a baby I more just meant the idea of having a baby in a few days is freaky, like meeting this little person after all this time- but freaky in a good way!

LittleN- Unfortunately you can't control what happens during birth etc and i think the whole point of a seperate birth storie thread is so you can post there and get it out of your system (mine was horrific and the more i talked about it the better i felt) and first timers can stay away from the thread if they aren't comfortable with knowing all the details until they have had theirs and then they might look back and think "wow hers was similar", but yeah don't post if you don't want people to know or feel uncomfortable, its up to you.
Weehee- DEFINATELY with you on the no hot food at night! DH comes home and im sitting down with a croissant while his big bolognese is on the bench lol, it makes me feel ill looking at all that hot food!
HMPH i want more babies to come lol! Off to playcentre with DS this morning... think bubs might have risen up abit last night (damn it) feeling hard to breathe again.... it feels so much easier when they drop!

Morning!
I had a good sleep only got up 3 times. Aahhh bliss :-)
I don't have stage fright this time around, not sure why - maybe it's cos I'm booking in for a c-section. I've already had one that was an emergency one and horrible circumstances, so this time around I figure it will NOT be worse than that - so bring it on!!
LittleN - I agree with Bubblebee - the more I talked about my labour the better I felt. Feel free to share your story if you need to, but all that aside I'm sure it will be fine so try to relax - you've had better care throughout your pregnancy than many others!
Ecomummy I can't remember what it was but something in your post cracked me right up...now it's on the other page and I can't see it but that was funny
Emmecat - know what you mean about being a bit too busy to have a baby - I'm still working full time until at least the end of next week (26th November)!
CL - hope your baby girl stays put for a bit for you! You've managed to stay off crutches I assume??

I can just imagine telling family "We're having a baby!" and them going "Oh, A baby? As in, just one? Boooring". LOL

ETA: You look great Emmecat!!!
Same here on the hot food in the evenings, and hot drinks, it's an iceblock instead of my usual milo at night these days. Luckily it is BBQ weather (not today though... and it is windy up here, even the ultra-sturdy fence is shaking around )
Soda I get bad sinuses too, and I continued struggling through 10 months or so of it while BFing, thinking I couldn't take anything, and I was feeling utterly miserable. The doctor was shocked at how much build up I had in there so prescribed me tablets and sprays. I'm not sure if it's ok for pregnancy but he said the nasal sprays are safest as they go straight to the cause of the problem, rather than circulating throughout the body (mental blank on the medical term for this?)
Karnie - take what I said about getting one out of three (pregnancy, birth, baby) difficult with a grain of salt - that was just my SIL talking, she always gives opinions like that, stated as fact. But I think you had your fair share of struggles at the conception stage
And thanks Emme, I forgot to reply re: TTing too, *touch wood* it is going well, we had a great patch, then a bad patch, and now things are pretty good. So nice not having to wash nappies! She is easily distracted when we are out and about though (and isn't so keen on the toilet), so I'm not sure how this morning's trip into the city will go.
I was really crampy yesterday (fine today) so I finally decided to start packing my hospital bag! But pre-labour can go on for weeks, at least it probably will for me. I have lots on this week too - baby can't arrive until next Monday at the earliest

RJS I am on crutches pretty much 24/7 now. It's funny visiting my mate in hospital as on leaving yesterday a nurse asked how long I was going to be off the ward for, she thought I was a patient!!!!!
When I go to my midwife I don't tend to use my crutches so I don't look as bad as I am. Luckily it not far to walk. I don't think she is fooled though as she always queries it

morning all
the electrician has finally arrived (supposed to be 9am yesterday) so am one step closer to getting my baby room!! All going according to plan it will be ready by the end of the week!!
Emme - you look great!!
LittleN - I like reading birth stories, I have been stalking the Oct and Nov threads reading theirs! I think I said before Id rather know about the scary/out of the ordinary stuff beforehand so if it happens to me Im not worrying Im some kind of medical freak!
I second/third the no hot meals! Last night was sandwiches, DH wasnt that impressed I think so will cook some mince for wraps tonight...minimal time in front of the stove top! otherwise it is salads and BBQ!
Have just hung out all my baby clothes... part of me is thinking awww they are so tiny and cute and the other part is thinking I actually have to get something THAT size out of me!!!!
looks like it shaping up to be another hot day here... have just finished my first iceblock...
